Hey everyone,
I'm currently preparing to apply to JHSON MSN: Entry into nursing program. I was wondering if those of you who are current or former students of the program could share your credentials, GRE Scores, GPA, and experience of being an MSN Entry Into Nursing student. I know that I am asking for a lot. I'm a bit worried that my GPA will not be high enough. Cum GPA is a 3.3 but my prereq GPA is 3.7

@ndannic I am sure you have a good GPA too, base requirement is a cumulative of 3.0. However, it seems JHU looks holistically at applicant, so having experience, research and good LOR can help significantly (I believe.)
But I am with you on the stresss of this process!!!

I agree. The application process can be stressful. I applied to JHU during the early desicion and was waitlisted. I really want to get in however I am unsure of how many get waitlisted and what the chances of getting off the waitlist and into the program are. I applied to a few other places just in case.

@MelsFutureRN Congrats on the waitlist!!! Does Johns Hopkins tell you where on the waitlist you are? Out of curiosity did you have work or research experience? ?

No they don't tell you how many are on it nor do the tell you your rank on the waitlist. That is what makes me nervous and why I applied to additional schools.
I did my undergrad in Biomedical Sciences. My undergrad gpa was 3.36 and my post bac gpa is 4.0. I didn't calculate my prereq gpa. I am a Certified Phlebotomist. I have 6 years volunteer service at a health clinic, ~ 1yr research experience, worked in a Nursing lab for 3 yrs, and some medical office experience. Did you apply to any other schools?

Thanks for your response @MelsFutureRN! I applied to one other school which I should be hearing back from in 1 week. However, Johns Hopkins is where I want to go. If you don't mind me asking what field of research did you work in? Also what is a nursing lab?
BTW you sound like an impressive candidate! ?

You're welcome. I should be hearing back from another school soon too but I understand. Hopkins really is amazing.
I had to take 2 semesters of research for my degree. My focus was Preeclampsia and Pregnancy. My senior year I was in a research group testing water for residents in Bithlo Beach to determine if the level of fecal coli forms present in the water were safe for drinking and playing.
Thanks?

don't feel bad, most people's GPA is lower with NursingCas. Good Luck!
