Fall 2020 Hillsborough Community College

Published

Hi, I will be applying to hcc for fall 2020. My stats are:

overall gpa- 3.35

pre req gpa-3.5

teas- 75%

Do I have a chance of getting into the program for the fall term?

I also sent a copy of the email confirmation as well as a copy of the screen showing payment was successful and the fee appears as received.

When sending the proof of payment for the application fee, is a screen shot of the payment screen and/or a copy of the emailed receipt correct? There was an issue with my application and I got an email back about it after submission. Along with bolding what needed corrected, the email also had a bolded sentence about sending my proof of payment.

I sent both things above with the application. Was that probably just a form letter or is there some other proof I should be sending? It was after office hours when I got it re-sent so haven’t heard back one way or the other yet.

This happened to me too! For some reason I thought you didn’t have to include your proof of payment if you paid the fee online. I resent it and then sent a separate email to the health sciences department letting them know I corrected my submission and was making sure they received it. If I don’t hear back tomorrow by 1 or 2 I’m going to call.

Thank you. The way it was worded and formatted made it appear there was something specifically wrong with the submission, but that made no sense. I think we all get paranoid! ?I guess a lot of people must do one of those two things mentioned in the letter wrong if they have a specific reply for the situation!

Hi everyone, I applied for Fall 2020. I submitted everything, and can't wait to hear back! GPA 3.8, hoping to get into Southshore.

Hi everyone! I applied for the fall 2020 term. I got denied from USF so really hoping for acceptance to HCC to do the concurrent program. I'm reading everyone's comments and I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves ?. Here's to hoping the cutoff isn't crazy high like last fall. Best of luck to everyone! Excited to find out our status soon!

Pre-req GPA: 3.68

Overall GPA: 3.4

Cohort preference:

1: Dale Mabry Mornings

2: Dale Mabry Evenings

3: Plant City

4: Dale Mabry Weekends/Evenings

Hey guys! I’m extremely nervous about this process. My English I course was through an AP course in high school so that didn’t really factor into a grade. The B I received was for math. I got all A’s for all other pre-req. My overall prerequisite is 3.57 , but my overall GPA is 2.8 ? (due to past medical issues/history). I’m feeling a little bit insecure with those stats. Anyone know how the process for how they pick us? Thanks and hoping we all get into our first pick! Wishing you guys the best!

@Ad0219 Don’t feel bad. I was dealing with health issues as well and my GPA is roughly around the same, but my pre-reqs GPA is pretty high (3.85). We’ll get through this together! Are you applying for the the Spring 2021/Fall 2021 cohort?

@AW2021 Thanks for the kind and supportive words. It’s nerve wrecking just waiting for results (& it hasn’t even been a week yet! LOL). I applied for the Fall 2020 cohort. How about you?

Your pre req is still good! Mine is a 3.01. I’ve pretty much accepted that I won’t be getting (which hurts a little bit ?) but I had to give it a shot. Now I’m trying to make the decision to possibly retake some of the pre-req courses and apply again ASAP or to go to Galen. I’m also still waiting to hear from 3 other state schools that I’ve applied to. I think you still have a good chance to be accepted!

Hey thank you- I’m stressing, but maybe that’s why they say to have a back up plan. I was supposed to take my TEAS test in April but the pandemic happened. I had hoped to apply to Polk as well (now I can’t until they open up their testing program in January) I was going back to some of the 2019 threads and it looks like others still got in. I saw someone who was placed as an alternative and got in with a 3.23 I think. Hoping to keep each other updated like the other threads so that we can find the best options for us. I was looking into Galen (their ad keeps popping up). For now, let’s sit in anticipation LOL. Maybe there isn’t as many people applying this round? Which classes were you thinking of retaking? I have to take a higher math class since I got a B. And retake the English I since they didn’t use that for my grade point average (they have my AP score from highschool years ago). Best wishes!

Negative thinking brings negative outcomes. Our GPA’s are basically the same. I’m going to try my best to remain positive throughout this duration. I’m hoping that not as many people applied due to covid19. I want to be a Nurse so bad and literally have everything all planned out just waiting on that acceptance letter to get it all in place. We got this and try to stay positive ?????

Chris Jamal you sound just like me. I want to be a Nurse so bad. My GPA is not as good as I wanted it to be but by God's grace I will get in.

Good Luck everyone! We got this!!
