I wonder why they would tell me that was the cutoff for the fall. They must’ve gotten the GPA’s mixed up

Hi everyone!

I'm applying to the Fall 2020 nursing program at HCC, hoping to do the cohort with USF. I have a BS in business and a minor in HS. looking to making a career change into nursing :)

my first choice was USF ABSN but as I didn't have a high enough GPA I'm applying now to HCC. Best of luck to everyone !

Pre-req GPA: 3.76

overall: 3.25 (I was a college freshman in 2013 and didn't take it seriously so I had to work extra hard to come back from that )

no TEAS since COVID.

can anyone give me any insight if anyone has gotten in with a lower GPA or if this will pass ?

I submitted my application, now we wait. ? I’m honestly not feeling too confident about getting accepted since it seems like everyone’s GPA is wayyy better than mine, but I’m hoping for a miracle LOL. Good luck to everyone!!

Did your transcripts ever get evaluated and put on WebAdvisor? I've emailed them again this morning to see if there's someone I can get in contact with to get them evaluated but no response.

Yes they finally did! I ended up sending them again and now all of my classes/grades are showing and it shows “received” where it previously showed “not received.” Have you tried to call? Sometimes it can take a little long to get a reply from them.

I actually just called them, and they said that they've all been evaluated, but it takes some time to show up in WebAdvisor. So hopefully they'll be there soon so I can stop stressing about it LOL.

The application suggests getting a read receipt for the email submission. Where is the option to turn that on in Hawkmail? Thanks!

I used Gmail and it didn't have that option either. I sent it anyways and 10 min later they sent me a reply saying they got it.

Thanks. I saw instructions for Gmail somewhere so may look that up before sending. I thought it had to go through the Hawkmail account so was trying to find it there. I guess it’s just all later communication about the program that has to go through HM.

When sending the proof of payment for the application fee, is a screen shot of the payment screen and/or a copy of the emailed receipt correct? There was an issue with my application and I got an email back about it after submission. Along with bolding what needed corrected, the email also had a bolded sentence about sending my proof of payment.

I sent both things above with the application. Was that probably just a form letter or is there some other proof I should be sending? It was after office hours when I got it re-sent so haven’t heard back one way or the other yet.

Yes. All I sent in was a screenshot of my receipt. My application has been received and all documents were accepted so I assume the same should work for you. Good luck!
