  1. So, just finished my Nursing pre-reqs and I have an overall GPA of 2.810. I got sick the first year and a half of college and then decided to transfer to community college. I brought my overall GPA up to a 2.667 and my pre-reqs GPA is a 2.810 because I got a C in Psychology, a C in Nutrition and a C in A&P 1. I got my C in A&P 1 because the professor wasn’t really teaching the material and it was super confusing for me. Anyway, I’m transferring to another CC that’s closer to hone and wanted to know if anyone has gotten into Nursing school with a low pre-reqs and a high HESI score? Thanks.
  2. Okay, so, I got all of those vaccinations when I was younger and just for future reference, would I have to get them again or do I have to just send in a copy of my vaccination records?
  3. Oooh, they’re gonna give me a half point for MAC 1105 then, but everything else I’m good on, thank you!
  4. Alrighty, so I went to the HCC website, and TEAS for the Spring are also waived! You can find it here: https://www.hccfl.edu/academics/subjects/health-and-medical/nursing/admissions-materials-nursing
  5. In the screenshots of the email provided, HCC just said to keep checking your emails and such because they have an undetermined amount of applicants for the Fall 2020 Nursing program so acceptance may or may not continue to be delayed for you guys.
  6. I figured I would go ahead and make this in case some people have to re-apply for the Spring or their first time is applying in the Spring for the Nursing program. I have little to no idea if HCC will be waiving their TEAS for the Spring as they did with the Fall semester, however, I will be routinely updating this main post with the information that I receive up until that point. Like most of you, I will be finishing up my pre-reqs this Fall, and as it currently stands, here is my GPA so far, not counting Fall classes, of course: Pre-reqs GPA: 3.000** Overall GPA: 2.49** (I previously went to a university, but ended up having to enroll at HCC Spring 2018 due to health issues, so the 1.4 GPA I had coming in and this one now, I see it as an absolute win). TEAS: N/A** (Subject to change as I get information from the Health Science department about TEAS requirements next year) I just want to say, it is an absolute pleasure to be going through this process with all of you guys and I hope we eventually get to meet in person, before it's all said and done!
  7. Oh, no the first time I took it, I received a D and it was at my old university. The professor ended up just not showing up that day and exam times were mixed up; typically speaking, he was not a good teacher at all. This time around, I had Professor McClain for my lecture (not a good choice) and Professor Myria Evans for my lab. I'm passing Professor's Evans class with an A and I just found out a few minutes ago I'll be passing the lecture with a C. It's only because McClain is a bit fresh to teaching and is really young, in my opinion. Professor Evans really cares about her students and provided us with the necessary information we needed to pass her class. I'm taking my experience from this semester and I have her for BSC 2086 and BSC 2086L. I also got a D in my Microbiology class during the Spring semester, but passed the lab with a B. I had two different professors that time, too. I recommend always taking the same professors for lecture and lab, because so far, in my experience, the lecturing professor doesn't know what their doing or is just generally lazy. My pre-reqs GPA may end up as a 2.9 (I have a 3.000/2.000 currently), but I'm hoping it doesn't since I have an A in the lab. If it does, I'll just pass the classes I'm registered for this Fall with As and Bs, and that should do it. I wonder if they're wavering TEAS for next year as well?
  8. Off topic question, but I have to retake my lecture for A&P 1 over again (passed the lab with an A, had two different professors and I absolutely regret that decision). This will be my third time taking it. Does HCC count the third time or..? Also good luck to everyone and hope you guys getting in, I’m applying for the Spring after the Fall semester!
  9. I'm actually redoing a course (MCB) and my Nursing electives, so I'll hopefully be applying for Spring 2021.
  10. @Ad0219 Don’t feel bad. I was dealing with health issues as well and my GPA is roughly around the same, but my pre-reqs GPA is pretty high (3.85). We’ll get through this together! Are you applying for the the Spring 2021/Fall 2021 cohort?
  11. @weskamo, I’m applying for either Spring 2021 or Fall 2021! I just finished up my Microbio courses (though I may retake the lecture over again) and I’m doing A&P 1 this Summer and A&P 2 this Fall along with my Math course! I believe they have everything like transcripts and such—atleast that’s what I remember reading in old threads for HCCs Nursing program on here!
  12. Don’t be nervous! I’m sure everyone will do amazing!
  13. My overall GPA is a 2.385 (I dealt with health issues first two years at my prior university. Brought my GPA up from a 2.022 to that after four semesters at HCC) and my pre-reqs GPA is currently a 3.0, but looking to be a 3.5-3.7 after I finish my Micro lecture and lab. I have Professor Bacheller for lecture (anyone have experience with him??) Again, applying for Fall 2021 and I’m camped out in this thread to get info about cutoff gpas and etc. Planning to move to Plant City or Brandon Fall of this year!
  14. **Fall 2021, since the deadline for Spring 2021 is August 15th and I won't make it.
  15. I'm gonna be applying for Spring 2021, but I definitely want to see what the cutoff GPA and such is for you guys, so I'll be camping out in this thread! Right now, I have a 3.0 GPA, even. Passed: ENC 1102 - B SYG 2000 - B In Progress: MCB 2000 - A MCB 2000L - A (Taking Ethic and I have a B in that). I'm currently taking MCB 2000/2000L online and the outlook for me is looking to be As in both of them. During the Summer, I'm going to take BSC 2084/2084L and MAT 1033 to refresh myself with my maths. Then during the Fall, I'll be taking BSC 2085/2085L and MAC 1105. Are the TEAS generally easy? What is all does it consist of?
