Do I have a chance of getting into the program for the fall term?

I personally feel that some of our lectures many be online while important labs and things will be on campus in the simulation lab. I’m also unsure what is going to happen with clinicals. Having to end my first semester of nursing online was rough. Not going to the hospital doesn’t help us gain that experience we need! I definitely don’t feel that I can become a great nurse if I don’t get that hands on experience! Who knows. This is the email we all received from HCC.
Do you think the transition online made lecture harder, or mainly the hands on component? I’ve heard the first semester is tough for cohort 1, so that’s my biggest fear!
I was accepted to cohort 5, at Southshore. I’m curious to know what times classes are? I read that you can start at 7 or 9am, and do classes go all day? I’m trying to figure out my work schedule and how I will fit everything in. For example are classes and clinicals from 7-3? 9-5 everyday? Will I be done by 6pm, everyday? Can someone please explain this to me? Thank you!

I can only talk from my experience with cohort 2. But I don’t think the online transition made the lectures necessarily harder.. I think it was just different! It took a lot of self motivation and learning your own study techniques! The hardest part was missing the hands on lab and clinical experience, in my opinion! Don’t be afraid though! Just take things as they come, you got this girl! ?
by biggest advice to all of you guys who got accepted is to make friends with people within your cohort. It makes a HUGE difference. My entire cohort used WhatsApp to communicate. We are all like one big family!

Thank you for always responding and giving us your input! And for the encouragement. Also, Does this mean your cohort last semester had to transition to online lectures and labs then? And what does that mean for uniforms. I’m about to purchase mine, but feel like waiting until orientation now

As far as uniforms go, I would definitely buy at LEAST one set. I guarantee you will need to wear them at least once, even if it is online. Maybe buy 1 for now and wait to buy more until you find out more information! ?

Thanks! I'll do that now and wait to order more after orientation. Have a great weekend!
