Fall 2013 FSCJ Nursing Student Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone! Wanted to go ahead and start a thread for our group. I've been following the spring and summer 2013 group a little and figured it might be a good idea to get focused for the fall 2013 group. I've completed all my prerequisites and took my NAT test. Got a 107 on the test and I'm sitting at a 93 will all the prerequisites. So I'm going into the application process with a 203. Does anyone know what the general cut off is? I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure everyone else is too. The only thing I haven't completed is the CPR. I read once that this can be done after acceptance into the program...is that true? Thanks everyone! Can't wait to start chatting!

That's why I went to talk to them today. I was concerned about deadlines and stuff. All she would say was they weren't all sent out. Maybe they do it so all the places you need to go aren't slammed all at once with nursing students. I don't know. I'm still nervous about it. It doesn't seem right.

You may be right about not wanting a big rush with everybody trying to do things at once. But when I turned in my application they told me 8 wks. also. So I was surprised to get an answer in early July. I could use more time though!

I went to an urgent care clinic called carespot, it's associated with Baptist Health. It's about $50 for a physical! & They take walkins.

Did they do your titers & immunizations as well? I can not get in to my PCP until the 24th and they said it could be up to a week for results ughhhh

I was lucky, since I work at a hospital they had all my titers and did my TB test again free. I have used Century Testing(356-2288) which at the time was cheaper than Carespot but that was 2 years ago. You can call them and get a price list, they do physicals also.

I ordered my white scrub pants at Medisave.net along with my stethoscope. The pants are $12.

Layne3 what hospital? I work at one too and I have my titers from Feb 2013...I sent a message to see if I can use them rather than having them done again...I hope so because then I will need the immunizations and physical and will be done :) Carespot wasn't bad for just the physicals but the titers and vaccines were expensive and all out of pocket.

Yeah there's no way they can wait until August 1st with orientation so close to that. I've given up, they won't talk to me in person, over the phone or through email so there's nothing else I can do.

Got my denial letter today. The cut off score was 187.20. 393 students applied for this term.

Beatrice91, i'm sorry. Don't give up! Retake the NAT & apply for Spring.

I know they do immunizations but I'm not sure about titers. You can ask tho. Heres the website CareSpot Immediate Care | Walk-In Clinic ...I got my titers at Consoildated lab place at St. vincents. But I had to go to my doctor first stating what I needed. It was so expensive for the titers...

Don't give up!! You had over 200 points, so it has to be some sort of mix-up. I believe it will work out for you.

Emmy I finally got an email from cj she said all the letters have now been sent out.

Thanks. I knew I wouldn't get in with 169.96 but still had my hopes up. I will retake the nat around the end of September and apply for the spring. I don't care how long it takes, I am going to keep applying until I get accepted.
