How did everyone's first day go?
My class was at 7am this morning... the earliest I've had to be mentally alert for quite some time! Still, my professor sounds like he is good: lots of easy-to-earn points like attendance points, homework points, etc. His lecture tests have 150 points total... but he only counts 120 of them in the actual grade, so you can screw up 30 points and be okay (I don't know how many actual questions this works out to, but we'll see). Plus, everything is multiple-choice, and the lab practicals (which always kill me) are about half the points as a regular lecture test, so that seems like a good thing to me.
He really does look like a Middle-Eastern Richard Dreyfus/Mr. Holland with a bowtie - he's a real MD and managed to keep my attention the entire class, which is quite a feat, considering it was 1) before noon and 2) me and my ADD brain! He had some sort of fascination with the word "capisce?" any time he wanted to make sure we understood (and he's not Italian), but that was the only weird thing. So far, so good.
How are everyone else's classes going?
(I know there was another A & P II thread going for this semester, but it seems to have been lost in the shuffle)

Update to my test!My teacher allows multiple attempts (online course) so I retook it two times and got a 100! Woohoo only 3 more to go!
We could do that on the quizzes for my Intro to Psych class. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why the class average was 80'something though. I mean, geeze, you can retake a test until you get a 100...why not do it?????
I have my second test tommorrow, please pray for me. The test is over the lymphatics/defense system & respiratory system. Im nervous but Im always nervous before I test.
Good luck! We just had our first a couple weeks ago, managed to get a 94 & 100. I think our second test will be on the same things as yours... plus blood.
Hello everyone. Just wanted to check in and say hi. I am going to be studying all weekend for my 2nd lecture exam on Monday, which will cover the integumentry system, and tissue section. I am feeling a little bit more confident that I will do better on this exam than the first. The first one was just so much and we had like 100 questions, where my teacher said this will be the shortest test thruogh out the semester, it will have 60. He also was nice enough to give us a little format of how the test may be:) We will be starting BONES the Skelatel system next week. This class is soo much work, but I am actually liking it a little bit, I think I needed a class to kind of work my brain a little bit harder, maybe get me a little prepared for all the thinking i will be doing in NS. Good luck to everyone who has an upcoming test also.
Any one on muscles? with real cadavers??My test in on halloween, hope that does not bring bad luck :chuckle
Nope, did muscles in A&P I. And no cadavers, either, just the plastic models A Halloween test using cadavers would probably freak me out a bit, too, but hope it goes well. Best of luck!
Not much going on here, our class last week was cancelled and we have to write some sort of 2-page paper to make up for it (not sure how that makes up for it, but whatever, it's only two pages, I won't complain too much). Going over respiratory tomorrow. We have a test scheduled for next week, but not sure if it will be pushed back or not.
Heartsopenwide, I had my test for muscles on a cadaver also (In A&P101). Its not too bad, not too freaky either, just the smell was a little bothersome (it gave me a headache). I have a lab practical on 25th , an exam for the circulatory system heart and blood on the 27, and on one of those days I need to do an oral heart quiz. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. But I'll just keep going like always. Good luck on your muscle test. LKG6, congrats on such great test scores.

I am a new kid in the street, and I have been following up the threads, quite interesting. I am also training for RN and currently doing AP, we have just finished the muscles and the few sites are really helpful esp. on cadaver labs for muscles.

Anyone with an idea where I can get an AP I and II software or CD; I have limited assess to internet esp at work.

Had the lecture portion of my first test last night... have to wait until Saturday to do the lab portion. I think it went okay, guess we'll find out. I'm just happy to be moving on from cardio...
