I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how frustrated you are but want you to know that there are other people out there who have gone through the same thing. This board is a great way to find out you're not alone.

When you haven't passed previously, have you used the results as a way to study in the future? If you're strong in one area, it's best to focus on your weak areas. If you give more details about your results and how you have prepared there are many that are glad to help you further.

Also, you would want to check with your state to find out if you can sit for the NCLEX-PN. There are many different requirements and there would need to be other review to sit for the PN exam, as the chain of command and delegation abilities of a PN are different than an RN.

Good luck!

Hey NEVER loose hope. Always believe in yourself nor matter what . How exactly did you study each time and what materials did you use?

i can sit in for lpn and i have applied already all i need is to pay the 200 for my att but still not sure what to do. my third try i got near passing on different areas and the rest were above passing, but i have not really studied well coz i was pregnant and i was so stressed with the baby father leaving me and doing it alone but i still toook the exam 3 days after i gave brth. 5 months later im dont know where to start. what shud i do

i used kaplan and saunders but i never really placed my heart to it. i was really stressed at thst time. now i dont know where to start and pick up. i feel like im a blank page now

Marinesgiel,

please dont give up. i know how you feel. You have to be in the "correct" mindframe to take this exam again... no rush. Take some time off, clear your mind, relax, find happiness, enjoy your baby... whatever you do .. CLEAR YOUR MiND , allow yourself to grieve if you have to .. but don't give up! Once you are ready , i mean mentally ready to try again , use a different approach ... talk to someone , i dont know exactly how you studied so i can't be specific ...

But know this , you are meant to be an RN !!! you have made it this far , i know some pple have it easy, who cares , forget them . You will be an RN. just stay positive and keep praying ....

You have some great resources to use to pass.

Start off with a clean slate.

Look at the NCLEX for its four parts in order for one to enter as a entry level nurse: Safe, Effective Care; Health Promotion and Maintenance; Psychological Integrity; Physiological Integrity.

Next, set up a time period to study. Give yourself two months to study MAX if you need to. Review Kaplan book and Saunders cover to cover.

Make sure you are reviewing questions and rationales-even the ones that you answer correctly. Look at what the question is ASKING you; that helps in choosing the BEST answer. Review the sources if you don't understand the rationales.

The NCSBN (makers of the NCLEX) also has a comprehensive study program as well.

You may be facing challenges, but you passed a great challenge-nursing school. You owe it to yourself and your child to bask in deciding to have feelings of success or constant challenges. Seek out support to help give you time to study. Center yourself against your challenges. Reach out and seek outlets for your personal frustrations, a teacher, a mentor, professional counselors if need be. RETAKE the NCLEX-RN...YOU DESERVE to; YOU DESERVE SUCCESS.

Sending positive vibes to your success! We need you out there!:up::up::up::up:

What worked for me is to do at least 75 questions everyday. In my case, I took Kaplan Q-trainer everyday, then 75-150 questions from q-bank everyday. If you keep exposing your body and brain to the same stuff, it will get used to it. So when you take the actual NCLEX, your brain will just treat it as one of those practice tests you are so used to. I know it's hard to study with a child. But maybe try to find someone to babysit. When you take the practice test, you need to be alone, focused, and undisturbed. On the day of the test, RELAX, RELAX, RELAX. Never give up no matter how many questions you get. Use the bathroom, take a break, take five breaks if you need. Eat a snack. You will pass! Good luck!

You need a convenient way to study. I've been using mobile apps on my phone and ipad so I can study anywhere or when I get a quick break at work. My favorite so far is NCLEX Mastery ($25) and NCLEX Flashcards (Free, but not nearly as good)
