Remember to understand WHAT the question is asking you, and choose the BEST answer.

Failed my nclex so planning to take again but having difficulty on my materials... I have kaplan qbank Saunders.. is this enough? I would really appreciate any advice... thanks and Godbless..

Several of us took the Hurst Review (in class & one online) & I feel like it helped tremendously! We all passed. It was more than worth the money! And if you do not pass after taking their class they offer free extensively targeted tutoring to get you to pass it the next time. But honestly, it helped break the material down in such a way that was much more easy to retain. I would recommend it to everyone! Good luck.

Retake the RN. LPN and RN nclex are very different. You may end up failing the PN because you don't understand their role and scope of practice. I've taken both PN and RN NCLEX and no test is harder than the other. I have to admit when people fail the RN class/NCLEX they want to "settle" for the LPN.

Hi sorry to hear about that don't worry though you're not alone, same as me I failed as many times as you but still haven't given up hope. Just keep trying and we'll definitely pass.

As for your other concern. I have also thought of taking the lpn exam. I have done the process which took me about 3 weeks.

I'm planning on taking another review course. Then taking both exams at the same day. Hopefully it gets my chances up.

What worked for me is to do at least 75 questions everyday. In my case, I took Kaplan Q-trainer everyday, then 75-150 questions from q-bank everyday. If you keep exposing your body and brain to the same stuff, it will get used to it. So when you take the actual NCLEX, your brain will just treat it as one of those practice tests you are so used to. I know it's hard to study with a child. But maybe try to find someone to babysit. When you take the practice test, you need to be alone, focused, and undisturbed. On the day of the test, RELAX, RELAX, RELAX. Never give up no matter how many questions you get. Use the bathroom, take a break, take five breaks if you need. Eat a snack. You will pass! Good luck!

I think I'll try this strategy. The Saunder's review is always great for content but the questions aren't as similar, but Kaplan review questions are! Thanks for this information!

Don't give up marinesgirl!!! I know how it feels like to fail an exam and it does sucks, but you got this! YOU will pass! :) Preparations + prayers = PASSING!

I don't think that you can take the NCLEX-PN just because you graduated from a program designed to prepare you for the RN role. LPN isn't like a partial RN. Your state BoN would give you chapter and verse on that.

What you should do is study like heck, do what you have to do to put your baby in child care so you can do it effectively, and pass the exam next time. If you don't pass it on try #4, then you should ... reconsider your life path. Some things are not meant to be.

^This...if you did not do PN coursework, there is a chance that you will not pass the PN exam either...best you study for the knowledge you have in hand-the NCLEX-RN.

Get a study plan together, and make it work.
