Is it true that if you take your time to answer a nclex question, it will lower your pass rate?

hello

it took me 3 hours 15 mins. to answer 75 questions and i passed.

thanks...i'm relieved to hear that.

same here, i took my time, 2h50 into it, i reached 75q and it stopped (and i passed). so take your time, take your breaks

The only thing that will matter is how many questions you answer correctly. Does not matter how long you take to answer each one. There are alot of myths and rumors about the NCLEX that seem to circulate now and then.

If there were a deduction for taking too long, the entire time alloted for the test would probably not be as long. A person who passes with 75 questions in five hours does the same as one who passes with 75 questions in 28 minutes.

Hi. I actually took 4 hours to take my 120-130 question NCLEX-RN, and I passed. I remember reading that if you don't finish the test they will still look at the last couple of questions to see whether or not you're answering in the passing range, and they'll use that to determine if you pass or not.

i wouldnt think that it true.

I read that in the Saunders 4th ed Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN examination p.13. This was the last paragraph under "Pass-or-fail decisions." It looks like they look at the last 60 questions that the test-taker took to determine pass or fail if you run out of time, and the computer shuts off.

For RN and is stated on NCSBN website as in this book the questions look at the last 60 and make a determination on pass or fail
