Have you gotten a good diagnosis of what your problem is? I read a lot of posts on this site from people who have failed the NCLEX who keep studying the same way ... using the same strategies ... etc. and they keep failing without ever getting individualized, professional attention that diagnoses and treats the root cause of their problem.
For example: Could you have a learning disability that makes it difficult for you to correctly interpret the test questions? Do you have a form of test anxiety that interfers with your ability to think clearly while taking a test? Do you actually know the material, but can't perform in the testing situation ... or do you actually not know the material?
You need answers to these kinds of questions before you can begin to make a plan to conquer your problems. I suggest you get an individualized professional assessment of your learning/performance problem from an educational psychologist, or other expert on learning disabilities and performance problems.
There is an old saying that the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing, expecting to see different results. Once a person has failed twice, it's time to take an entirely different approach rather to read 1 more book, or practice a few more questions that are the same as the ones they have already read and/or practiced.

Historically, approximately 84% of new grads educated in the U.S. pass the first time. Approximately 50% of those who take it a second time, pass on that second try.
The key is to learn the material well while going through school ... and if you are not a good test-taker, get a good diagnosis as to why you struggle with tests early on while in school and work on your test-taking skills throughout your program. Don't wait until graduation to start to prepare.

Don't give up! You can and will eventually pass the NCLEX, and when you do and find a job you will appreciate being there as a professional nurse that much more. You have a lot of heart and determination to continue to persist. Keep on going, it will make all those previous efforts a waste if you stop now. The only thing now between you and being a nurse is a test, not the years of torture in nursing school. Keep on trying and keep your head up. You are striving for that goal and you will be rewarded greatly once you get there.

No it isn't. The first time pass rate is 86%, so really, how hard can it be?

Don't give up!!! You can do it!!!!!! I agree with what everyone is saying. We made it through nursing school and that was a struggle so you can do it. Keep working at it and it will all be worth it in the end!!! I just graduated about a week ago and am waiting on my ATT so that I can register to take the exam. This thread really scares me, but we must stay positive and believe in our selves:) Good luck!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!
Thank you to those who have given me support and advice, i will definitely change my game plan because all it has been is the same books and trying to review it much harder and more and by myself. But this time around i will do the hurst course as well as other books recommended in the posts and other posts I have read. Everybody is different when it comes to test taking and with me since i had not been successful a few times with the NCLEX i think anxiety just kicks in which i will definitely will work on fixing. Throughout school i never had this much anxiety and did very well. I guess since its a final one that determines me getting my license is what makes it hard for me. But also if anyone is in the Albany, New York area and would like to group study because thats where i am located i would be willing to meet up or even skype. Thank You Again:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe
