hello everyone, i'm in a serious situation, where i really don't know what to do at this point. i have read other threads but none answer the question pertaining to what the person ask, so hopefully i will get a detailed answer. well i failed a nursing program by 3 points, no readmission, no acceptance, no nothing. mind you, this is a cuny school, so no other cuny school will accept me back. what are my options to get back into an rn or lpn to rn bridge program?
what schools will accept a person who failed a nursing program?
i really need to know what schools would give me a second chance, because telling me to go to another school wont help, i need specifics and details...i have called schools like suny, and i seen other people who post schools that rejected them....please help me....please!!!!!

CUNY's the City Universities of New York (City College, Hunter College, York College, etc) and SUNY's are the State Universities of New York (Albany, Buffalo, Binghamton, etc).

Nobody here knows what you can accommodate or not. Do you want to go to South Dakota? Or do you have to stay within your county? You need to research these schools yourself. We have no idea what school will consider you and what their criteria will be. Nor do we know your criteria.

I know you can go to a private college like Kaplan college for your LPN then you can bridge to RN...I think they have online courses for that these days. Look into 1 year LPN programs in your area. Don't give up, there are other paths you can take to get there!

Sound like you are in NYC but if relocation is am option, you could consider establishing residency in a nearby state with a strong community college network that bases admissions into their nursing program on standardized test scores such as the NET or TEAS. Assuming you were successful in getting your ADN and in passing the NCLEX, you could then enter any of dozens of RN-BSN programs.
One such state is PA. I know that Delco CC bases admissions solely on TEAS and I believe that both CC Phila add Montco CC do also. Of course, this means you need to hit a home run on the admissions test and you will have to explain your previous performance in college but it's a viable, not to mention low cost route to your RN and more.
Yes I'm willin to relocate, I'm from NYC, my prereq are good enough. I'm sure other people been in my situation and I'm sure they found a solution. I will call every school in the world lol
Thanks everybody for the replies and info.

NY resident here.. I started my nursing career as an LPN. Took a Boces program then took LPN to RN bridge. I know every upstate county has Boces, not sure about the city though.. Good luck.
Ok yeah I'm near westchester so I can go to that program. My thing is what rn program will take me if I I already failed an rn program. I know it's a lpn to rn but if I already failed an rn program, would it matter after I complete an lpn program?

The best thing to do is contact the school, explain what happened and see what they say. The worst that can happen is repeating what you all ready have done, but consider it a review.
I was dropped from my program 1 week before graduation for failing pediatrics by 1/10th of a point:crying2:. I found another school to go to, but have to repeat everything all over. At first I was upset, but now, I see there is stuff that I did not grasp the first time around. I also am getting better grades at this new school. Before I was just thankful that I passed with the required 75%, now I am getting A's and B's and not settling for just passing!
Keep us updated on what happens, and best of luck to you.

All I can say is apply at LVN schools. That's what my back-up was.

I too failed traditional nursing school. I failed by 1/4 of a point and could do absolutely nothing about it. I am currently enrolled in Excelsior College. They will accept the fact that you have completed at least 1/2 of your RN program. There are 8 exams and after looking at your transcripts, you may only need to take 6. After that you would have to do 1 weekend clinical. All exams are at your own pace and you take them at a testing center.
Best of luck!
