Failed NCLEX- Very Sad Need help

Published

[color=#009900] hello everyone,

this was the second time i took nclex but failed again, although i was really confident that i am going to pass this time, when i got back home i went through the notes and became even more confident that i got most of them correct. i want to know if there is any way i can see my actual exam or at least know what i have done wrong. i want to see question i got wrong. one more thing i want to mention, when i went to testing center and realized that i forgot my att at home. i asked the lady to let me use her computer and printer since i have att in my email and this would be easiest way to get it and she refused and said go home and get it, i told her that my home is almost 45 min. drive and test will be starting after 10 mins.and she said i am not allowed let you touch my computer without att. it took me almost an hours to come back to testing center and when i came back the lady said you are late and i won't let you to write the exam since she already filed a report saying that i did show up but i cried a lot and begged her to let me take the exam finally she allowed me to take the exam and my computer stopped at 75, i felt very confident that i got most of them right. i am not sure if my failing status has to do with the report that lady filed or something else.

i would really appreciate if anyone let me know how to find out what i have got wrong.

hello everyone,

i am new here and have been reading the posts and have given me encouragement that i am not alone. i, too, took the nclex and failed, not once, but twice. i took the 2nd one last month and failed, very sad :( i really think, nothing couldve prepared me for that test. it was very unpredictable both times i took it. i dont know how else to study for it. i felt like i have done what i could, took kaplan, did kaplan cd, saunders, books, etc. made flashcards, took notes and still didnt pass. this test is stressing me out. i have done grieving, so i will just continue to study again and take for the 3rd time, and hopefully, pass this time. who knows though. but its true that for those of us who failed, we'll just keep trying, and eventually, we will pass. we can't just keep failing forever, you know. we'll just have to wait for our time. so good luck to all of us and to all those taking the exam still. anyone else has any suggestions on how to study better or do anything different to pass for the 3rd time? thanks. any advice would really help.

Hi all! I am so sorry to hear about the fails - it's like every time you don't pass; the next time there is even more pressure. I have not even made my first attempt just because I was too scared to register. (Now I have registered and I am petrified!) Is it really your draw of good luck or bad luck? OK and reasonable exam versus a ghastly one? Some of my colleagues claim it is not bad at all - and laugh at it - they said they had very straightforward tests. And knowing the test studying strategies of one particular colleague; I was really surprised she aced it at 75 Q.

Some of you really sound like you have studied your stuff - and I keep reading these horror stories about the content. Is it the strategy, seeing into the question, that fails you?

If possible, I am even more nervous now. But, I will extend lots of positive thoughts to your way - and hope, no, I know we will all get there.

Geena, I have read saunders strategies for success book and it comes with a little video on the cd about the top 10 strategies for picking the right answer. i have to say my test score went up after viewing that video! Ihighly reccommend it. Just I feel I got something out of the video part that I didnt' get from just reading the book. by the way I got it at the library for 2 weeks and I didn't have to buy it. Just a thought.

hey there! i know exactly how you feel.. i graduated in december 2003 and i'm still not an rn. i have taken the nclex three times all ready. i'm currently going to start preparing for try #4. you just need to keep your head up and know that there is a reason for everything. stay positive. you were meant to go to nursing school for a reason, it's not just for nothing. you will pass the nclex when it's your time. i have to keep this positive attitude because if i don't i wouldn't be able to keep taking this damn thing. i know it costs a ton of money to keep taking it, but everyone out there i want us to unite and know we will all pass. i know it. i'm just hoping it's the next time we all take it.

i'm also sorry you had such a bad experience with this last time you took it. that isn't really the way you should start your exam. i think the whole process is a tad unnerving myself. i mean it's a dull boring room, everyone is so quite and still, then they finer print you, call you in one by one to sit you in a tiny area and then they tell you that your being videotaped and recorded. i mean is that supposed to make us calm? i don't think so.

anyway you hang in there. our time will come and i can't wait to celebrate it all with you!

Amy, thank you. I am reviewing Saunders book/ CD with questions and using the Suzanne-method to get though the content. It's just that I am at the moment, in a place, where I have zero access to other books for strategy - by the time Amazon would reach me, it would be exam time already!

Thank You for your tip, though. I am sure it will help all the others!

Hey everyone. I too am in the same boat as you all. I took my exam in January and failed. I study every single night doing 100 ?'s religiously until my retake date. I have read through Saunders and read Kaplan and made flashcards and everything else. So, WE WILL ALL PASS THIS TEST!!! I have found that it is easier to hear that from those that are in the same situation. I retake my exam #2 at the end of March- I will say lots of prayers for all of you guys. I know how you feel--

I feel like I have done so many questions I wonder if I am just memorizing the questions or if I am really learning this stuff....LOL anyone else?

AmyD

AMY D- When do you retake your test? I agree with you about memorizing the ?'s. That is one of the problems I had with Saunders is that I would have the same questions over and over so I had them memorized. Sometimes I would get the same question twice in a group of 100.

I am just getting ready to send in my initial application fee ($75), then however long it takes to schedule from there. and you?
