  1. starting salary for new grad rn's in northern CA, is $38-$42, in the hospitals i've looked at, but yes, the cost of living is very, very, very expensive. average rent for an apt. is about 1,500 or more.
  2. hey everyone. just wondering if anyone from the area had experienced the new grad training programs in kaiser, stanford, lucille, vapa, or any other hospitals, and how the experience was at the hospital. i am currently job hunting, so i just wanted to hear your ideas and opinions, so i can decide on the best program. thanks.
  3. no, you are not alone. i, too, was out of school for a while, had to retake nclex 3 times, and finally just passed on my third time. i used saunders, but i felt like it was more on content. i did kaplan too, but i didnt concentrate on it too much the first 2 times. so my third time, i just did all kaplan book and questions. i ordered the kaplan complete course online. i just concentrated on answering the questions and their rationales. i guess, it worked :) so do not lose hope.
  4. yes, it is true. like you, i used to check all the time because i was so anxiuos, but about 2-3 am, it would show that it is being updated. it says the website is updated Monday-Friday, so i dont think weekends count, since i took mine on a Fri. and my name was up on Wed. am. The wait was torture. my friend took it on Wed, and her name was up Sat. am. Give it a few days, i hope you pass. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!
  5. congratulations!!!:smiley_aa :smiley_aa  :roll :roll
  6. congratulations!!!! :smiley_aa :smiley_aa :roll :roll
  7. congratulations!!! :roll :roll :smiley_aa :smiley_aa :yeah:
  8. Thanks everyone. to those who are still waiting dont lose hope. good luck to all of you, and i hope u all make it too. remember, i took it for the THIRD time, and it stopped at 265 questions. so it is possible :)
  9. i just found out i passed :) i couldnt believe it. i saw my name. i finally passed for the third time. thank God!!! i already started reviewing too, yayyyyyy. thanks to all of you here. now i can celebrate.
  10. i have used saunders too before, and it is more on content, and yeah, they did seem easier after a while. My scores were also higher. However, i suggest you use kaplan questions and the book. The kaplan questions are the closest to the nclex questions. They're more on using critical thinking with content, teaching, assessment, prioritization, etc. just like the nclex. They're also more difficult. i have yet to try ncsbn online and the CAT mosby. has anyone tried any of them? are their questions also similar to the way nclex is written?
  11. hello. i too, took the test for the third time last fri. and stopped at 265 questions. i dont know what to think. i might have not passed again 265 was wayyyyy too long, and sitting there for 4.5 hrs. didnt help me get better at answering questions till 265. but the first two times i took the nclex, i stopped at around 80 something, and unfortunately failed. but i also know people who passed with 80 something questions. good luck to u, u probably passed :) let us know how u did. if i dont pass, i will better pass the 4th time i take it.
  12. how waqs the ncsbn online? how many questions does it offer, and were their questions similar to how the nclex is written. so far, i only found kaplan's questions to be closely similar to nclex questions. it also has like 1000 questions. has anyone tried to CAT mosby course online?
  13. thank you for the words of encouragement SDSU1205 :) i don't know the result yet, but whatever happens, i will just have to try whatever it takes to pass again if i dont. im just really nervous because i have friends who failed twice with 265 questions.
  14. the wait is killing me. although i feel like i didnt pass, at least i wanna know soon, so i can plan my studying again. does anyone know if i'm still gonna pass with the last question (265) being like an easy question??? cuz i heard that the last question needs to be above the level of difficulty to pass. but i think mine was just a recall one, ugh, im gonna cry
  15. i just took nclex today for 3rd time, and i got to 265 questions dont think i passed again, since i thought the last question seemed like an easy level question like a recall one and not above the passing standard. oh well, il just have to study again. good luck to those taking it and waiting for their results.
