g:scrying: failed is what my result is. I'm trying to deal with and be strong but it is so hard. I worked as a gpn for a year and I thought I would b ok. Now I realize that I could have studied way more and now I have to face the reprocussions. I feel so stupid.
If it makes you feel any better I have currently failed the NCLEX for the third time. I am very stressed and confused because I feel that I know the material, I just can't seem to pass. I totally know what you are going through. I think I am going to try Suzanne's Plan....Have you heard of it on here? You have to first have 15 posts, I think that means replies but I am not sure. I just signed up to allnurses.com today. Let me know if you have heard anything about this plan. Hang in there, we can do this!
I have 3 recommendations for you to successfully pass the NCLEX. Try using Hurst Review. You can attend a live session or use her online review which is AWESOME. Marlene Hurst is a phenomenal educator. I first used her educational materials during Nursing Fundamentals. She produces a great audio cd on Fluid & electrolytes. Anyhow her online review is super & the most fun you will have studying. She and her staff use quite a bit of humor to get you to remember things and most significant, she has a 98% NCLEX pass rate for people that take her review. The website is www.hurstreview.com.
In addition to using that review, two additional resources are the books Priority, Delegation & Assignment by Linda La Charity and NCLEX-RN 2008-2009 Strategies for the Registered Nursing Licensing Exam. You can get them at Barnes & Noble or order them from Amazon.com. Each one costs about $25.00.
I have no doubt that with these 3 resources you will pass. The NCLEX is all about critical thinking. Yes you do have to know your core content but it is more about critical decision making because all of the answers are correct in the majority of questions, but there is one best answer and you have to reprogram your mind to answer questions from that perspective.
The more higher level questions you get like the select all that apply and the proritization type questions you get etc., the better you are doing and the earlier the test will shut down. I took it on Friday, September 12th 2008 and I passed it with only 75 questions.
I hope that helps!
By the way Prayer helps too!
God Bless!
You are not stupid! If it makes you feel any better I took NCLEX last Thursday for the first time and found out on Saturday morning that I failed it. Yes it sucks, yes it is not fun to tell your friends and coworkers that are licensed nurses that you failed boards, but you can do this! Don't give up! I can totally relate to how disapointing not passing feels. The first thing I did when I got the news was call my mom crying. My mom has been an RN for 33 years and she shared with me that the director of nursing at the hospital she works for took her boards 4 times! Not to mention, there is a nurse practitioner on her floor that took her boards 4 times also! That proves NCLEX does not define you or your intelligence. Some people are just better test takers than others. Don't let this one experience stand in the way of your future. Keep trying, study harder, and rock the next NCLEX you take! ! That's what I'm gonna do!! You can do it!! :wink2:
how can u reach suzanne.....i heard alot of people use her tips and pass......
Only suggest you contact Suzanne once you have completed the first tip. To send a pm you click on her name and then select send private message in the drop down box. Make sure you send pm in the format she asks for and the information as stated.
I'm sorry you failed. You prob heard this over and over...but all you can do is your best. Do not give up. Even tho you feel like giving up, just don't. I'm not. Talk to others who have failed and find out what helped them pass. I'm doing that right now. You are not alone, believe me. Keep ur hopes up.
