  1. Hi everyone! I am an RN currently living in Omaha, NE. My partner just got a job in the Portland area and it looks like we will be relocating to PDX next week. I have over a year and a half experience working at a world renowned transplant center specializing in liver, pancreas, small bowel and kidney transplant complications. Even with this experience under my belt, I am concerned I may have a difficult time finding a job. The Portland nursing field is tough to get into! I have been applying for nursing jobs in Portland ahead of time online and have sent my resume and cover letter to a variety of hospitals. So far I have heard....a big fat nothing! I loved my job working in transplant as an RN in Omaha regardless of the high stress levels and enormous learning curve I faced as a new graduate. I would love to continue with transplant nursing but honestly would be open to almost anything. My nursing skill set is specialized, but after some of the patients I've taken care of I can honestly say I can pretty much do it all and pick up anything (humblely). I really need a job, so if anybody out there in the Portland area can help me out I am open to any and all ideas and suggestions. Peace, love and happiness!!!
  2. You can do it guys! I will pray for you both Luv'nlife and Scubadoo! Good luck and may the force be with you!
  3. Mosby's pharm memory aid flash cards are really great and don't forget the drugs advertised on tv. Good luck!
  4. Great job! Congrats!!!!;););)
  5. What a relief! I found out on Saturday morning that I passed the NCLEX! Thank you to everyone that sent me supportive messages during the waiting period, you guys got me through the 48 hours! Also, I want to say thank goodness for Suzanne's plan! I used it faithfully and did exactly what it said everyday for 45 days and I passed! I also brushed up on my pharm with Mosby's pharmacology memory note cards. They are awesome and contain great memory aids and colorful pictures! Life is good!!:nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke:
  6. Congrats! You did it.....and are now officially a RN! Way to go!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D!!!
  7. Dear Futgirl, I wish you the best! I hope you passed!!
  8. I need some input. I took NCLEX for the second time yesterday and am still waiting anxiously for the results. I keep hearing from friends and coworkers that the last question on the test before the computer shuts off determines whether you pass or fail. In other words, if you get it right you pass NCLEX and if you get it wrong you fail NCLEX. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks much!!
  9. I do not agree with that statement. I know two women both now nurse practitioners that took the NCLEX 4 times before they passed. It is not a reflection of the test takers IQ. :redpinkhe
  10. Hey guys! I took NCLEX today for the second time and I'm not sure how I did; it was so much harder than the first time! I only had 2 SATA questions, a ton of pharm questions, and even more prioritization questions...0 math! I left the testing center feeling really sick to my stomach because I felt like I only knew about 1/2 the answers on the test. I wasn't keeping track of the # of questions, but if I had to guess I would say the computer shut off at about about 105 which is a really weird number. Any-who, I will know soon enough I guess? Has anyone out there taken an NCLEX test like the one I got and passed? :paw::paw::paw::paw::icon_roll:paw::paw::paw::paw:
  11. I know that the waiting period is the hardest part, but try not to stress too much until you know for sure. A lot of people pass with 265 questions! Try and stay positive! Hang in there!:nuke:
  12. I'm not taking boards until early November. I would still love to get in on the study group if at all possible! Thanks guys!! Good luck to everyone on boards!!
  13. Congrats! Did you use any other study tools besides Suzanne's plan? Just wondering...
  14. I'm interested, but I don't take boards until the first week of November. Hope it's alright if I share study tips too ! Thanks guys!
