I really liked Saunders NCLEX-RN prep. The book is wonderful and I've been working on Med Surg for sometime now, and when somethingcomes up I cant remember, I still keep the book in my works' locker to look it up!

just follow suzanne's plan. i have never heard of anyone failing who used her approach.
get the saunders book she recommends and do her step one.
first tipsaunder's comprehensive review for the nclex-rn or the pn exam.latest edition required if you want the new format questions, suggest that you get this version.now for the review, which is the first tip, and there is a complete six week program that comes only from me once this is done.1. you are to complete the quiz at the end of each and every chapter.2. do not read the chapter first.3. if you get 75% or more on the quiz, then go onto the next chapter, if you get less, then read the chapter and your score should now be over 90%.simple as that for the review. if you know the material, you can complete it in just a couple of days, or you may need to read the chapters, and it could take you a month to complete.if you are retaking the exam, please give yourself at least two months to prepare, if not longer. the worst thing that you can do is give yourself a deadline if you do not feel comfortable with the material in the first place.and the other worst thing that anyone can do to prepare is to cram, and i am unable to help any of you that wish to go that route. it just does not work for the nclex exams.

plan on 8 weeks of studying. when you prep for this test it is quality studying not quantity of studying.
(things i remember from my own nclex last spring: 1. take your time. 2. put your patient care hat on while answering the questions. 3. don't panic.)
i know you can pass this test!

Yes, you can pass the test but it start by thinking positive and moving at your own pace. Passing nursing school is an indication that you have what it takes to succeed. Take a day at a time, answer at least 100questions a day and go over the rationales for both right and wrong answer. I will be waiting to hear the words "I passed" from you.

Wanted to wish you a warm welcome and to add to the suggestion of others that you follow Suzanne's plan. Just hang in there and keep at it. The only way you lose is if you give up. Good luck.

Welcome to AllNurses.com. So sorry to hear you have not passed your boards yet. Stay positive ( even though it is hard ). Lots of other nurses have also failed one or more times before passing. You have already done the hard part, nursing school. So, we know you can do this. Please read about Suzanne's Plan and see if it is right for you. You mentioned test anxiety, have you tried talking to someone about it? Or what do you think it is about tests that causes you to freeze up? Maybe we can offer suggestions to help? {{{ HUGS }}} Best of luck to you and hang in there.
thanks for all the positive remarks everyone.. I needed that..
The difference with nursing tests and the nclex is you cant go back and change your answers. I know ppl say not to do that but i remember things throughout the tests. Other questions trigger me to remember things and on the NCLEX and i cant go back !!! i know that happened to me four or five times this pass test. Maybe i just need a xanax before i take it again so i can relax and think.
Im going to go and buy the saunders book tomm and start with suzanne's plan..
Go gettem tiger!
