Published

Hi everyone, I took my nclex-rn exam last feb. 26, stopped at 265. Just got the results from the mail today and it reads FAILED. My results are: 1 above passing, 5 near passing and 2 below passing. Feel so week just stare at the wall my mind completely empty, this is my 4th already. Right now i am confused. I dont know where to start. Can you suggest a study plan? i have saunders 4th ed, la charity and exam cram. when do i need to retake it? your sugestions/advice are soo welcome..thank you

Evidently, at this point you need to give yourself a rest, although check with your state on how soon you can re-take the exam. Furthermore, the NCLEXRN 4000 CD is your best bet, the alternative is to go and get a refresher course, make sure you get their percentage of passing. Lastly, I wish you the very best in all of your future endeavors~

what were your study habits? i enrolled in a review center, we covered all the basics and kept repeating the important stuff everyday.. i mostly used Lippincott's 3500 program

Thank you all for your inputs, very much appreciated. With regards to my study habits, i just self review, I did many questions as I can (100 - 200/day). Mostly of you suggest Kaplan, right now I just cant afford a review center. What about purchasing the Kaplan Strategies 2010-2011 instead, do you think it might help?

Unquestionably, it will help if you concentrate on the sections you feel your weakness, and try not to place so much emphasis on the entire exam, the less tense you'll be the better the chances to pass. Once again I wish you the best in your future endeavors~:D

DONT EVER GIVE UP!!

I failed the NCLEX twice and passed it on my 3rd try. This is what I did.

1. I did at least 100-200 questions daily from NCLEX 3500.

2. Read the Linda Lacharity book twice.

3. Read the Kaplan 2010 edition twice plus did the CD-ROM with questions.

4. Read the Saunders 4th edition book and did every question on each section plus da questions from the CD-ROM.

Organize your time wisely and prioritize!! Give yourself enough time to study each and everyday, according to your schedule!!

Good LUCK!!

Hi Chris! that's very nice of you. Can I have a piece? By the way, where did you go for a review? Tell me more about the review center you are talking about.

Hey Chris, that would be great for you to teach with a review program. The programs need people who understand how hard it is. I have a couple question for you if you don't mind.

What is the review? Was it a local one? How do you think it prepared you? Did you pass nclex? What is this review outline you have? Can I get a copy of it?

yep the review center's main branch is in CA i think, but they have 2 branches here in the philippines.. before taking the exam, i had already studied alot for our local nursing board exam, so alot of those things carried over to my nclex review.. i gave myself an additional 3months to prep for the nclex, and i was pretty calm before taking the exam, i knew i was ready since i had really done my part.. havent gotten the results yet though, although i got the good pop up on the pearson vue trick.. either way, just email me at [email protected], and ill do my best to help you out. i know first hand how hard it is, and this is just another human being helping another human being out. :)

i cut and paste this message that i just posted to another persons blog so please forgive me me i just didnt want to write the same thing over again.

okay first , i want to say i have been in ur shoes. i have been out of school since dec 2003. i failed 4x's before i actually passed with 75 questions. like you i used hurst and kaplan along with saunders.

hurst for content and kaplan for nclex style questions. i thought i was studying in the past but i wasnt. i want to ask u first is did u finish the qbank? and how did u do? how many other nclex style questions did u do a day?

this is what i did for 3 months. i did at leaste 100-200 questions a day. every day!... i did so many questions that i idid qbank 1 and 1/2 times. i also uses saunders and sometimes i used exam cram.

now what i did different this last time is... is that i did questions every day faithfully, every now and then i take a day off, but i did my questions.

people think they are studying when they crack a book open and do 50 questions here and there, but they're not. big mistake... so dont stop studying ...

its hard at first but the more you do it the quicker it gets and the more you learn.

so that is my advice. have any questions email me at [email protected]

hope this helps!!!!! .... you will soon pass this nclex and be a nurse like me... :nurse:

agree. you should stay faithful to studying daily.. although, i only did prolly 75-100 questions a day when i was reviewing.. i focused more on the lectures being taught to us.
