Dialysis interview next week- NE FL
I've been working as an RN for over 6 months as an Endoscopy nurse. Applied to a job that was posted for a dialysis clinic in one of the hospitals in NE FL. Today, the hospital called me and asked to when I can be available for an interview. The interview will be done next week when I am available. Honestly, I am so elated way beyond the heavens :heartbeat ...... My endo experience includes: pre-op with the patient: assessment, interview/instructions/teaching and initiating IV for conscious/twilight sedation. Intra-op: assisting MD's during the procedure, checking the monitor for VS,SaO2 and collecting specimens. Recovery assignment: checking VS,SaO2 and making sure patient able to pass gas, giving instructions and teaching patient and/or family about procedures before/after discharge and etc. I need guidance to what to expect for a dialysis interview, what to ask, what to study for this new field and please, please.....share your thoughts and experiences - good and bad. :thankya:..... My endo job is okey BUT if I will be given a chance to work with this hospital dialysis clinic (my first choice :redbeathe) I will take it...... Thanks for taking time to read my post........Inputs are welcome and appreciated.

Nurses unemployed what is happening out there???
Just applied for the Mullen Flu Shot clinic and crossing my finger that I will get a call. Better to have some few bucks than nothing at all and have some sort of an experience. Not what I really wanted but it is a start. That way I will be able to network some people. Been thinking to move out the state I'm located, but need to know more and do some research. This will be a very rough and tough road and year(s) to come, but nothing wrong to stay strong and positive....and surrounded also with positive and kind people, not those who are emotion vampires.

Why do nurses treat each other do way they do?
Definitely right! there are some out there are just plain evil and 'stalker' like. I have one that in my opinion, this woman is insecure and somebody that will take advantage that whatever this woman can get for her own personal gain.

Why do nurses treat each other do way they do?
I've experienced being bullied recently! Boy, I never see it coming! Back-stabbing and spreading rumors and lies with this particular Queen Bee and all her minions swarmed!....Such non-sense and junior high attitude and mentality. So much cattiness, crabby mentality. I'm hurt but slowly recovering. Well, it may take a long journey of the karma to descend upon them, but when it does, hope they will remember me and whoever will be their next victim(s).

Hello Friend, Sorry to hear about your weekend. I feel what you're feeling. But hey, you did the best you can and the resident is fine. Don't be scared. When you will be facing the management, tell them the truth. Lemme know whenever you will have your day off, I'm hear to listen and cheer you up.

RN-Refresher course around Daytona Area?
Hi Charr-RN!.....I can understand the long distance driving. It was tough for me too, driving 1 hr back and forth and dealing with super aggressive drivers in jacksonville area. But I have no choice. In my case, I'd prefer to be in a "live" class and getting some input. We are now on the second week in the class and the instructor is awesome. I'm a bit nervous because I've been out of the nursing field for 12 yrs and never had any hospital/ltc experience at all. Been a housewife for a while and getting tired staying home, so I took the exam last month and passed it. I hope you can find somewhere that will suit your needs. But in my opinion, you may need the refresher course so somebody will hire you. That's all up to you. Taking phlebotomy and other health related courses is good too. I had my phlebotomy 5 years ago and that's a plus also. let me know your progress and good luck.

Failed the NCLEX-RN with 75 Qs (and I feel ridiculously stupid)
kparri03, don't give up! I know this is hard to digest for you. even myself failed the first time, took me sometime to regroup myself and finally the second attempt, i passed with 76 questions. have sometime to heal yourself and after that pick yourself up, evaluate what went wrong, have a calendar - stick to it and DISCIPLE yourself, know both contents and on how to answer the question. If I made it the second time after 12 years graduated nursing overseas, then YOU CAN DO IT TOO! So, put your head high again and say out loud: YES I CAN!

RN-Refresher course around Daytona Area?
Hi Shiina, Where are you located?.....I am admitted already for the RN-Refresher Course with FSCJacksonville that will start Monday. No idea if there's a refresher course in Daytona. You might try to call FSCJ and ask for Mr Matthews. Clinicals will be in Shands Hosp. I've read on one of the thread in the general section regarding Retired/Inactive Nurses and bumped to one thread from this lady that finished the refresher course last year and was very happy with it. Good luck to your search, hope to meet you in FSCJ!
