Many great nurses have failed their boards more than once and eventually passed. Okay you need to change your game plan, they usually give an analysis of types of questions you missed and assuming infection control you were lacking. I would ask your school for a list of tutors that have helped other students in the past. I heard suzannes plan is a really good one, I would look into that as well. The third time may be the charm.:heartbeat
Sorry to hear about the second time. I had some clinicals with an RN who took it 5 times. Anyway...I just took mine and I am waiting for the quick results (next Monday). I know I missed at least 20 questions. I went over them after I got done. I had 75 and I feel REALLY bad about it. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and studied for 2 months with Saunders while taking at least 3000+ sample questions. The NCLEX was totally different than Saunders. Way harder. Some questions about meds gave no clue as to what it was. Either you know it or don't. I am looking at doing the Kaplan Online course. I really don't think I passed...if I did, it was luck. A friend was lowest in the class, and he passed (75 questions). He said he had lots of math. Keep in mind 15 questions do not count. Scary to think we are scored on 60 questions after 2-4 years of schooling. Goood luck to you and let us know when you pass and what worked for you.
Hey everyone,I'm somewhat numb about the fact that I did not pass. Went all the way to 265. I just wish it would've turned off sooner instead of wasting my time and giving me a big headache. I'm trying to find out Suzanne's plan w/o causing conflict. And just needing help on finding a book that emphasizes infection control. I'm just at a lost of words. I really thought I was prepared, and I don't have the means to do a review course to be honest....
sorry to hear that but you went to 265 that means you know all the content you just have to push yourself a little bit more n i hope you will do it in the next attmpt dont give up it happens just relax for a week and preapre for urself a little bit more then the last time you can do it i also take mine in october waitnig for my ATT. best of luck to you for the next go round:up:
Hi, I also just failed the NCLEX after taking 265 questions.. I was so frustrated after I left there! When I got my official results in the mail, it says I was "near passing standard" in everything except pharmacology which i was above passing standard in. Any suggestions on how to go about studying again??? I feel like if I keep doing what I was doing, it won't help because it obviously didn't help the first time.

Although the results indicate your areas of shortfall I would suggest setting a new plan together as if you haven't studied before
Do not give up and best of luck
Update...It turns out I passed. I know I missed quite a few, but I must have done enough. I still get panic attacks when I am not studying something. I used the Saunders 4th Ed and Lippincott NCLEX questions for PDA ...both were good. But while I was freaking out waiting for the quick results I took some Kaplan on-line sample questions and those seemed really good too. Good luck to all and I'll see you on the other side. Don't give up...it is worth it.
