  1. Dear Angelsinthesky and PSK09, I highly advist the ExamCram. I partly believe in the whole 'just do questions and you'll be fine' but the other part is to know your content. If you don't know your content, than doing questions is a waste. But the ExamCram, the blue one, I used greatly helped me and taught me more about Addison's, Cushing's, and other things. And mingled w/ the LaCharity book it helps to really read what the question is looking for, especially with assignment, and priority assessments. But of course, in the end, God is the all knowing and He will do His part, as we do ours...best of luck to you both and do please keep me updated!! :-)
  2. I PASSED!!! Sorry for not posting sooner to help with studying tips! But I will make this short and sweet. I got the ExamCram practice question book and read through it for a week. I did not do the cd much cause the book has the rationales and was easier to check myself after each question. Than, I did the LaCharity book the next week. I basically studied two weeks and took the test a 3rd time. I scheduled it for 12pm. Left early, studied few more infection control precautions, diseases, and went in. Test stopped at 75 q's and I knew I got the last Q right because of LaCharity. Those two books got my mind into a way of thinking like the NCLEX. I did'nt have the money for kaplan or a review course of some type. I just had a mission to complete, and mission accomplished. If you have any questions, please don't bother ot ask me! I'm happy to help!!!
  3. I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. But in the end, if you receive the pop-up, according to this blog, it means you passed. I try not to compare to others (classmates & friends), because everyone has a different situation. For example, each time I kept hearing about my classmates passing on the 1st try, I became more and more sad. Because I knew I worked hard in school and they did not. But I cannot think like that. Than, hearing aboow how they passed at 75 q's when I failed at 265. It can be very disheartening. But, I had to focus. I had ot focus for my family and myself. To be able to move forward. I believe this NCLEX has nothing to do with real nursing. I have told another person, its like that movie, Saving Private Ryan. Where you dont' really want to be on that boat because you know when it opens, you either gonna get killed, injured, or trampled on by your own men tryine to escape. I guess my long point is, we go through training (nursing school), to face the enemy (nclex), and even though neither really relates, its the outcome that matters (staying alive and moving forward)... We cannot let this eat up our minds and hearts. Believe me, I've been there. But we need to beat it at its own game. I'm happy to hear you got the pop-up. Keep us all updated! We are here for each other!!!
  4. I did the book first. The cd's rationales didn't help much because I couldn't find them. So I read the book front to almost back. Than, at night, I'd do the pretest one of 80 q's. But, doing the book brings more critical thinking, than you check the back to check and read rationale. The cd wasn't much help to be honest unless you went through the book militantly.
  5. And also, I prayed! God can do so much and He has done His part!!
  6. Well, first time I really didn't prepare. Second time I studied the Saunder's cd because I was reading that doing more and more questions will help. And I even used the Kaplan book from a friend who took the course. And didn't pass. This time, I bought ExamCram practice question book, the blue one. And almost completed it in a week! There are like 5 sections and each one has 250q's. Than I got the PD&A by LaCharity and almost completed that one, studeied it the next week. So, I prepared two weeks, but remember, its my 3rd time taking it! Than, few hours before my test, reviewed over labs, infections precautions (MMR, varicella, etc.), disease (hypo-hyper thyroid, addison's, cushing's, diabetes, etc.) and to be honest I was basically tested over all of it. I knew my stuff when I was taking it. But there was some tricky ones that I had no idea. But I really did feel more prepared this time. After 1 1/2 hour, it stopped at 75 and I knew I got the last question right, thanks to the LaCharity book. I'd be happy to help out if you have any more questions!!! Good Luck!!!
  7. Hello everyone! I am thankful to God that I received the pop-up. Though I still have to wait to receive the official results, it brings a load of relief. This was my 3rd time taking it and hopefully my last. Thank you all so much for you inputs on what to study and what helped you. It has certainly helped me much. I will keep you updated within 48hrs!!!!
  8. since taking it 2x and the third, what were the differences you notice? Like how was your concentration, better/worse? Confidence? Material?
  9. thanks so much, quick question, i'm hearing Varicella being airborne, is that same as being droplet?
  10. congratulations!!! please tell us of your testimony!
  11. hello everyone! in two weeks is my third time taking this thing. the nclex-rn. i am studying the examcram and the lacharity. i have the cd for saunders, and the rn course book kaplan that i borrowed from a friend. being that the test is majority of infection control, priority, meds., what else is there to review before i make this deadly turn again!?
  12. Haha, I agree 2brichielpn08, but yeah, you can try the trick right after you take the test, hope you make it!
  13. Thank you everyone! It has been a while or me and I am now starting to study again...I have set my test date for Nov. I do not wish to wait any longer due to certain circumstances. I have recently bought ExamCram and will continue on w/ the LaCharity book as well. From my experience in working, I see how little the NCLEX relates to actual RN duties, but it is a silly hurdle that is needed to pass in order to get to being an RN. I will keep y'all updated on how it goes, to be continued....
  14. Hello, I just got my results for the 2nd time and I was "Near" passing on every section. (And it went all 265 q's). So, in order to pass, do you have to get 'above' passing in every section or just in some?
