Failed NCLEX PN Test; suzanne's plan

Published

I am getting very discourage here , I have taken the test a few times and still failing it. This time the test stopped at Q143 other times 85 or 205. I studied all that I can and could. I had several resources to study from but this time around, I only used one book Saunders Edition 2. Maybe I used the wrong book, per this site, I have. Yes, taking the test and failing it a few times does make you feel like a loser and when you done so well in nursing school and then you have to take this test that is from h*LL and determines if you are fit to be a nurse. This is not fair, I want to be in my nursing field and helping people. Some nurses are in it for the money, I want to help more than receive the big dollars. Although the pay is good!!! Information is correct on here that it does not matter where the question stop at you could still pass or fail. Well, I have done all I could by myself, now I think I will start Suzanne's plan. It appears that a lot of people are successful after Suzanne's plan. Getting Saunder's Comprehensive Review for PN exam 3rd Edition today and study like a dog again. I want give up, I spent a lot of time in nursing school and clinical's, time away from family to just quit!! Anybody got any comments, feel free to send me a message....

Thank you itsmyturn! I will be following Suzanne's plan exactly. I am very adament about becoming that LPN that I should have become awhile ago. I have gotten the book and will start doing the chapter quizzes next week. I have already sent in my re-registration papers. This will be the only book that I will be using for the duration!!! I want to be able to say in a few months "itsmyturn":nuke:

Sometimes, I think that people get flustered by this plan because it seems to easy, I know I did. Everyday, time came closer and closer to the date and I would tell myself I could not be doing enough. I see a lot of people doing her plan and two or three others and that is way too much info to be absorb. Sometimes, simplicity works. Make sure you give yourself enough time to reread the chapters if your score is not high enough. I have noticed some who just do the chapter questions without reviewing the chapters if they don't get a high enough score and I think doing this really re-enforces needed info. I had to do the acid-base imbalance chapter 3 times before I got the right score! Also, I used the very last day before the two days of rest before the test to reread the chapter concerning the test questions just to make it more prominent in my mind.

Thank you itmyturn for the info. It does seem a little too simple to just do the quizzes at the end of the chapters and the ones that you do score low on read the chapter. But if this is what it takes! What about the SATA questions and Priority questions? It just seem so hard to answer them on the NCLEX! How do you answer these types of questions?

I took the nclex pn yesterday. i feel like I failed because I got the same question twice. I came home and looked it up and I still got the answer wrong.. YUCK! :uhoh21:

I was trying to find suzannes plan. So I just found out that I have to post 15 times...... so here it goes!

Hello to everyone, I grauated my PN program December 07 and failed the exam March 08 here I am almost a whole year later from my test date, still shaken up, nervous, scared, disappointed with my self and ANGRY should I go own. I feel I let my family and friend's down, I think I left out the feeling of being ashamed. I cut off after question 85 I was sure that I did good, not a chance. I do not know where to start. How do I go up against this beast of a test for the second time? How do I prepare? What area do I focuse on most? I don't know, my confidence level is below at this point. I have tried to stay positive and motivated, I have all kinds of NCLEX-PN books including the Saunders I have all types of information, study guides, material from school; I reserched this test online............................I just need some real help & direction. This has to be the most hardest obsticle I have come across in my life. I am open for all sugestions(please & thanks!.) I have been reading up on Suzannes plan in hopes of giving it a shot, what do I have to loose at this point.

don't give up tgreen1!! do suzanne's plan. 1st you have to get the pn comprehensive review 3rd edition book (the only book that you will need to use) and do the quizzes at the end of the chapters. if you don't get at least 75% or better you will need to read the chapter. after you get done with all the chapters that is when you can ask suzanne for her plan. you have to have 15 postings before you can pm (private message) suzanne. read the sticky on the home page of this forum to find out more about how suzanne's plan works. right now i am doing the quizzes and studying the chapters if i do not get a 75% or better. this is certainly the way to find out your weak area's. keep your head up, there is hope!!!

Everyone here is right. Do not give up. Think of all the time (as you yourself stated) you spent away from your family. Make that time count. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and dedicate the couple of hours a day to make it happen. Believe in yourself and it will happen.

I wish you luck and please keep us posted.
