Fail

Are there any nursing students on here that have failed at least twice?

Hi there!

I don't know of anyone in our program who has failed twice and been accepted back in the program. Every school is different, so I can't speak for everyone else....but for some reason I think I have read several threads here that twice is the limit in most programs.

I am now in the LPN program.

That's what I've heard too.

I know in my program, you get to fail once--fail twice and you are gone.

Nikki...

Why not put all your concerns/questions into one thread? That way you can get feedback on ALL your issues at once.

In our program you can only reapply 1x if you fail.

I saw a post recently where someone was asking something similar (I think)!

"Trying to become a nurse for 7 years" https://allnurses.com/forums/f50/trying-become-nurse-7-years-283180.html

In any case, if that thread cannot get you started with a support group of some kind, you can run a search to find similar posts.... I am sure that there are others, even lurkers who may want to PM you at some point.... GL. :)

Our program you were only allowed 1 fail. If you failed anything a second time you were out. This didn't count prereqs though..just the nursing program.

Specializes in long-term-care, LTAC, PCU.

The first RN program I was in I failed once and then withdrew in the next rotation (not withdrawl fail) just a plain old voluntary withdrawl, and I was not allowed to reapply. My sister failed the same program twice and has since completed their LPN program (which is what I did).

Specializes in NICU Level III.

In my program, if you failed anything 2x, you were kicked out.
