So, my superintendent asked me to buy face masks. I've looked... everything is sold out. Do you know of any places that have them in stock?

Nope, we tried to order some as we only had about 50. No luck at 50+ stores and online sites.

I was asked if we have "plenty" of masks. What is your version of plenty? Do I have enough for 1000 students plus 100 staff or so? I don't know how many they want me to have. I have appx 150 stocked up. I've considered reaching out to a local hospital. But I haven't done so yet.
That's what I figured. I found one site that had adult face masks. 118$ for 10 masks.

I wouldn't bother with the hospital - the hospital staff will need them more than our students, staff etc.

Even the CDC (when discussing the COVID19) stated that masks are a false sense of security and should not be worn unless the person wearing it is ill. I have found that children play with the masks and touch their face more often if wearing one.

We use masks now if a child has flu like symptoms and can't get a parent to come get the child quickly. It would be the same thing... except we are out of masks and I can't find any

Don't you need N95 masks for COVID19?

That is what was recommended. Wish we had a crystal ball to see how this was all going to go. Right now I am more concerned about the flu in our area but, since COVID19 is so new, we need to be cautious. Once the CDC came out with their statement, I started to really pay attention.
I *just* saw on FB (so you know it's true) that a dog in China tested positive. Didn't read the article, so unsure if it's 19 or another strain that's known to affect animals already. ?
