Why would you EXPECT to fail? That is terrible. I would MAYBE expect to lose your 4.0 GPA, if you have it. But to expect to fail is to not have faith in yourself and set yourself up for failure. Save the drama for the end of each semester when your walking out of your finals, convinced you sat in the wrong class all semester because the final just kicked your butt! Study, read, use all tools that fit your learning style and USE NCLEX REVIEW BOOKS. Good luck. Don't sell yourself short!
If you expect to fail, then you probably will. Don't set yourself up for a self fulfilling prophecy! - After reading some of these posts, I went into nursing school terrified and full of anxiety. I am about to start my 3rd semester, never failed a class and I know they say never say never but I don't plan on failing. Yes its challenging and at times I feel completely overwhelmed, but it has not been the big bad scary thing that I thought it would be. Study, work hard and believe in yourself and you will do fine.
I recall that the instructors in my nursing school really tried to make us believe that we would fail at least one course and many of us wouldn't make it through school, but that was just their scared technique. DON'T SWEAT it!! School was difficult but not impossible; I made it through with nothing lower than a B and I'm not a genius. Even if everyone tends to fail a course why would you put that in your brain?! Defy the odds and go for a 4.0!!!

Hello, I have been reading several post on allnurses, and some of them leave me terrified. I will begin Nursing School this fall. I wanted to know is it true that in Nursing School expect to fail at least one nursing course?
 I know that some people probably never failed a course, just trying to see about the majority.
Thank you
