Excited about scrubs??

Published

Okay, so i was accepted into the program that starts this monday, (day after tomorrow) and I have to admit..I was kinda excited about buying scrubs for the first time! I am sure they will get old after a while and I will probably complain about them, but for my first day in class I'm digging the idea. What a dork, right? It's like a first date, all excited about what I can discover what it's about...

Anyone else enjoy buying scrubs for the first time?:dncgbby:

Congrats on getting into a program! I started in mid December and am loving it! In the program I attend, they give you the scrubs about two weeks in. I have to say I love mine. They're very comfortable ( I swear it's like wearing pj's )and I never have to think about what I'm going to wear to class. Our scrubs have nice deep pockets along the outside of the legs and two nice sized pockets in the front of the top. I think it's psychological too. Wearing them makes me feel that much closer to my goal. It will be nice when I can just buy whatever color I want, but until then I can live with these.

A word of advice: Take lots of notes and study, study, and then study some more. It doesn't hurt to start going through the NCLEX-PN study guide after each chapter you cover. That way you reinforce what you learn and get an ideah about how the questions are worded. I was given this advice and have made the Dean's List...it works:D

Best of Luck!

I remember feeling the exact same way!

But in time it gets old! What you think feels like comfy jammies, will start to bug the hell outta ya! heheehe.

Best of luck!

This week was our first week on site at our clinical facitlities. I have to admit, I was really proud to get uniformed up that morning. It was kind of like that first day of school in new clothes feeling and I admit I did dork out and took my own picture :D You're not alone, it is pretty cool that we've made it this far! Good luck!

I love scrubs (except my school uniform, which is all white top and bottom- those are awful). But the ones I had for my CNA program and for work I love wearing- they're comfy and I don't have to try to put together an outfit for work. My favorite pants are the Grey's Anatomy one's- they are extra soft and comfy!

I remember when I was first in the VN program and we were fitted for our scrubs a week before school started. It was exciting and I remember thinking, finally I'm in a nursing program. What you're feeling is very normal :)

I LOVE wearing scrubs! It's such a comfy no-brainer. And I have the same love for Grey's Anatomy pants....SUPER soft, boot cut and such a nice fit.

I've been wearing scrubs for over 2 1/2 years now and I haven't gotten sick of them yet. I love being able to roll out of bed and wear scrubs all day at work! Although I will admit that it feels nice to dress up when I'm out of work.

I just though I'd dust off and bump this thread because I just got hired for my first job in health care and went on a scrub shopping spree! We have to wear white pants and can wear any kind of top so I went bonkers.

I love the Grey's Anatomy scrubs because they are so soft and are like PJs. I also bought all Baby Phat tops because they have some really nice designs. I know I'm going to get them covered in all kinds of things but I couldn't help it. After years of wearing ugly burlap feeling navy blue scrubs in a factory I was just ecstatic to have color back in my work clothes.

I also wish I would have discovered compression stockings sooner! 8-12 hours on a cement floor killed my poor legs for all those years. I got the Therafirm knee highs and they feel pretty good. Do you put on a fresh pair every time you work or do you rewear them like pantyhose or leggings for a few days before washing? I don't want to sound gross but after spending the money on scrubs and with them being $12.99 a pair I don't have enough to buy a whole bunch right now.

I'm starting a PCT program in January and I am excited to wear scrubs even if they are all white. They are still comfortable nonetheless.

I love comfortable scrubs. I always end happy looking ones with hearts or stars or flowers or animals on them.
