In my second year, I failed my clinical careplan which meant I would have to redo that year which meant my 3 year degree would now be four years.
I debated quitting however at that point I'd already committed two years and I simply wasnt prepared to give up.
Why would you want to chuck away all that hard work now?
Well, fly to another state that conducts the CPNE. If you will not fly to NY or elsewhere to complete a necessary requirement of the program that you chose to attend, then the ASN degree will not be conferred to you, which means you'll be rendered ineligible to take NCLEX and become an RN.I have been going through Excelsior's RN program for 5 years. I recently found out that there are no weekend clinical sites in Texas. I have spent a lot of money and I cannot or will not fly to New York for several reasons. This is ridiculous Texas is one of the largest states and they cannot find a clinical site anywhere in Texas. UGH!!
You have a choice to make. You can suck it up and complete the CPNE out of state, or you can throw away all your education. It is up to you.
Excelsior's CPNE test sites are located in Georgia, New York, Wisconsin, and Texas. Someone on FB passed in lubbock on January 11 2015 (Sunday) and several other people around Christmas.
Edit: disregard below, looks like MPAC was merged into NPAC, so Lubbock is still an option.

Nope, looks like MPAC sites are no longer listed on their list.
Not sure what is up with that, I did mine in Lubbock in '13.
I know Texas has had 2-3 sites over the years, but still not sure what happened to MPAC.
Maybe a temporary thing. I would call Excelsior.
You have already invested the time, you need to find a way to do it, otherwise you have wasted all that time and money.

Lubbock is still a testing site. NPAC testing sites are NY, PA, WI & TX.
Apparently SPAC is just GA.

There is one in Lubbock. There are zero in Alaska, which is larger.
You can choose to fly to a site, or not. The only person you're hurting by not finishing is yourself. Good luck, whichever site you pick!

It looks like they've been combined into only two districts, for some reason Lubbock, Texas is grouped as "North". That makes no sense geographically, anyone would call it South. Oh well, minor detail. By the way, I'll fly to Moscow or the Arctic Circle if I have to for this. Why be picky?
