Would like to hear from anyone currently doing or already completed the Excelsior RN-to-BSN program....how did you like it? how long did it take? etc. Thanks!!
I'm in it. I had a ton of credits going in, but I've been trudging along since mid-2006. I took all of the exams first, then saved the WebCT courses for last. If I had it to do over again, I'd break those up. The courses obviously aren't as flexible time-wise, as you have to make posts to WebCT and respond to discussion items.
Do you have to be enrolled in the college to take the exams, or is it like the ADN where you can take some exams without being a student?
Congrats on graduating, medicrnohio! My one caveat about the Excelsior BSN - which I plan to pursue - is that it is not suitable for someone who wishes to continue on to become and advanced practioner. Very light on science.
Hey Suesquatch-
I kinda like science, do you happen to know off hand which online RN to BSN programs are a little heavier in sciences?
Is this is the one you're talking about?
YES!!! thanks..

Hey Sue, I know this is an old post but what do you mean ? My goal is an FNP program. Will the Excelsior BSN hinder me ya think ? Thanks:)
Con- if you want to do FNP have you looked at the frontier school of midwifery? they have an ASN to MSN track thats all distance learning for FNP OR Midwife your choice! They are really nice and i follow them of FB...only requirement is that you work as an RN for one year prior to applying with themj!

Thats my #1 pick for a school :) I start my BSN with EC in January. It will only cost me about $7,000 and take me less than a year. It will give me a chance to get a gpa higher than 3.2 so that my app for Frontier will be stronger. I wanted to apply for the bridge but I'm told its real competitive and the time I would spend applying/waiting for the bridge I could get my BSN and have a much higher chance of getting in the MSN directly. I'm so excited. I'm probably still high from passing the CPNE :heartbeat:yeah:
Also, if you have LPN experience they can "waive" the one year as an RN
