Anyone living in the Atlanta area working on their RN degree through Excelsior College or know of a study group in the area?
Thanks for the reply. I've been an LPN for 26 years, and I can run circles around alot of RNs, Thanks for the encouragement. I wish I could just take the stateboard, and be done with it. Thanks again
I too can run circles aorund alot of RNs. I am planning on taking this program to bridge to my RN, I feel that as long as you have the experience and able to take the courses whether they are in a classroom or on your own and pass the test then you should be allowed to bridge to an RN.
I agree if one hasn't had much experience as a lpn that one would benefit from a classroom nursing degree because there is so much to learn besides the practicality of nursing.
Knowledge gained is never wasted, you always have the opportunity to apply it, though some may think that some classes are unneccessary.
As stressful as nursing is, we do well to apply principles of other disciplines to the profession so that we would not burn ourselves out. Keep in mind that nursing is not only about wound care and med administration.
Hello to all nurses and future nurses! My name is RTLain and I moved here from New Orleans after the hurricane (Katrina). I had just started a nursing program and I was in school for a week. So now, I'm looking for an RN Nursing program. I started an LPN in N.O. and didn't need any prereqs, but now I will persue the RN. Any help would be appreciated.Currently, I'm taking classes at West Central Technical in Douglasville.
I went to west central college in carrollton and i thought the training was great. i did not go to a hospital and work so i dont really have a lot of clinical experience. i stayed at a job where i am a team supervisor making 26.00 an hour as a lpn. i am thinking about my rn but not sure what avenue i will take with the backlog of waiting for a school to have a opening.
