  1. The Excelsior college website does have updates about the new rules. I believe it was posted this past August. Also check the Georgia Board of nurses website the same updates maybe posted there. Good luck
  2. In Georgia and just starting on the Excelsior nursing exams. Do you have any study material that will be helpful?
  3. I live in Georgia. Just starting off with the Excelsior program. Does anyone have in study material that will be useful. will real appreciate it. Does any one have information about the CPNE tutor in Georgia.
  4. HI Im looking for more information about the program. How do you get in? thank you for any information.
  5. I have a few friends that have been RN for several years. Also, I am trying to get into a bridge program (LPN-RN). Georgia is fading out those programs and there is not enough nursing schools within a 30 miles radius. My friends tell me that there are a few RN jobs, SO YOU MAY FIND ONE. The problem they say is, there is not many options; therefore, the employers over work or mistreat there nurses. The many concerns about the schools and jobs in Georgia brings me to the conclusion that Georgia may not have the respect and the urgency for nurses like many other states(California and New York). Even though, they have this so call "Nurse shortage". Please do your research before finishing school, do not rely on what the instructors say. I wish you the best.
  6. Be careful with the online nursing in GA. Call the state of GA before starting any online nursing courses. I am one of those excelsiors students that spent a lot of money and time( cant get endorse). Now, I am trying to get into a regular nursing program.
  7. Find one fast(anyone)! You may have to do LPN-BSN. Georgia is getting rid of most of their LPN-RN programs(most are ending at the end of 2009). go to the Georgia state web-site. They will give you a list of nursing schools. I hope everything goes while.
  8. Thank you. It sounds overwhelming. I am trying to get in summer 2009 because Georgia is suppose to be fading out there LPN to RN-ASN programs. I believe GPC finish there last class this year. At August State the last one is summer 2009. The economy is not great, so I need to finish up. If my chances are slim I want spend to much time trying to get in NGCSU.
  9. Has anyone gotten in NGCSU with a 3.0 GPA. I am taking the TEAS January 9, 2009. I have completed most core class, except for A&P, MICRO AND HISTORY. I've been licensed since 2004 , but have only worked 8 months since becoming license. I had two babies 2005 and 2007. I need any info on my chances of getting into the bridge program and what is their scoring system:confused:
  10. nursing here is horrible and lets not talk about finding any nursing positions:down: I moved here from Cali in 2003. Cali is the best for nurses. You may want to rethink that move. Do your research.
  11. Thaamk you. I will send in my application.
  12. Hi I am new to this. I gradurated from LVN school 3-years-ago in California. I currently live in Georgia. It is very difficult to get into a nursing school(RN) here, and the schools are so far away. I am at a local two- year college finishing my prereq. I heared about Excelsior a couple years ago, and last year I sent in my application and 60 dollars for the application fee, I was accepted. I did not complete the process, because I felt that EC counselors was not helpful when it came to asking more question about the school. They did tell me that I had to pay eight hundred dollars to be admitted. I was concern about this because I did not know much about the school. I also heard from other people that was interested in the program that I could not take the NCLEX in Georgia, because Georgia does not recognize EC. But I can take the NCLEX for another state and transfer it to Geogia. Does anyone know anything about that? I really want to get started ASAP. I will like some reinsurence that many have gradurated from EC AND IT IS NOT A SCAM. And I will like to know exactly what I need to do. The counselor sent me these little booklets and told me to read them.(and than what) Please any assitance will be helpful and appreciated. Thank you:specs:
  13. Have you try looking into Excelsior college. I heared that this is the new in thing.
  14. I heared the same thing. My understanding is, you take the NCLEX for another state, and then transfer your license from that state to Georgia. You may can look at taking the NCLEX for New york. Now you know, that you do not have to physically go to another state to take the boards, you can sit for the NCLEX in Georgia, but they will send you paper work to the state you want. Please ask around or called the state of Georgia nursing board for more information about obtaining a license.
