EC grads,
Post your year of graduation and your specialty/specialties. I'll go first:
I've been a Level II/III Neonatal ICU nurse since graduation in January '06.
Update 5/2018: I've worked for a large NICU since 2009 in bedside and education roles, and I've been a clinical instructor. I finished EC's MS program in nursing education a couple of years ago. I was recently accepted to the Ph.D. program at a state university.
I am interested in the Excelsior program. Is it hard???? I work 8-5 in a surgeons office as an LPN...not too much cliniacal things here. My schedule doesnt allow me to go to CC and the wait list for RN school is horrible. So i am thinking of EC but have been made very nervous because of the clinical test at the end....any good information would be helpful please.
Thanks!
I'm considering excelsior college for my under grad RN. Can anyone tell me the pro's con's and the things they wished they knew before going to nursing school online? I'm currently in a associates program and will not graduate for a year and a half. Times are tough and a I need to go back to work full time which will make my current school near impossible to get through with the work load they put on us.
I want to know everything about the school, so if anyone has some time to write to me I would very much appreciate it!
I have all of my clinical classes done in my current school and quite a bit of experience in a hospital as a PCA.
Thanks!
Julie

Welcome to Allnurses! There are stickies at the top of the forum that you can read to answer alot of your questions.Spend some quality time reading the older threads and you will get alot of opinions about the program. I am a Ec grad and I thought it was a great program.
CONGRATULATIONS TO NURSE EBY!! I am staying with EC as well. Graduated EC ADN 6/19/09, passed NCLEX 7/13/09, applied to EC MSN program 7/16/09. Already have a Bachelor's degree (Political Science) and took Micro, Chem, A&P I, A&PII all with labs at my local community college. Just waiting for the Massachusetts BON to post my RN license online and I am good to go. Also, as a new grad applying for the BSN program, you get the application fee waived and they already have your transcripts so you don't have to do that again unless you have taken a course that you want them to credit and they don't have a record of it. I had to pay the $100. app fee for MSN tho. The waiver only is good for ADN to BSN. Good luck!!!

YAY Maureen! You are really going places. Proud of you! Traci
Thanks Maureen, and congrats to you also!!!Quick question, I'm trying to decide if I want to do the BSN or RN-MSN route. I just want to know if you are rewarded your BSN while doing the RN-MSN route. Thanks!
I don't know the answer to your question. Never looked at RN-MSN route. Check EC website for this program.
