A Class Action Lawsuit against the College Network has been filed in Ohio. In addition, the Federal Trade Commission is investigating TCN (again) for numerous violations.

This is relevant news to those nurses who were affected by this company, those who are currently using this company, and those who may be thinking about using this company.

I bought into this and was doing the RT bridge to RN, I just finished my prerequistes with CollegeNetwork, Excelsior college called me today and informed me that they no longer allow RT's to become RN's via Excelsior, So I am out thousands of dollars, and all the time and energy it took to complete the classes I had to complete before I could start the RN classes. I'm ready to join the class action lawsuit!!

EC stopped admitting RTs about a year ago. TCN should have been well were however they are not qualified to advise regarding admissions despite what the sales reps advise. Did you ever contact EC directly? There is likely a clause if you don't qualify for admission to your chosen program regarding transfer of "credit" or reimbursement. Have an attorney review your contact.

I am guessing you weren't actually enrolled?

I thought I was enrolled because I was taking my pre-requisites through them, but today I found that not to be true.

I'm not sure the class action applies in your situation plus this article is more than a year ago but you can always contact the attorney listed in the original article

Unless you have that letter, that is given when you pay the enrollment fee, saying congratulations and welcome you are now a student in the school of nursing, then you are not enrolled.

Sorry, yep — you have to actually enroll by paying the enrollment fee. :(

It seems that I am a bit late in finding out about the suits being filed against TCN. For the last year I have been trying to collect tests fees without any luck, or even reply, for that matter! Frustrated beyond belief.......I am in California and know many nurses in my area that also are having issues. Has anyone received any resolution from TCN, and if so, could you please share what you had to do?? Thank you in advance for taking the time to share info with fellow nurses!

Did you try contacting the CA Attorney General or the attorney listed in last year's news story?

had enrolled in their BSN program and a year later found out they lost their accreditation in California. contacted them for a refund over a year ago and am still waiting. Have found a few more military members in the same boat.

They aren't a school and can't have a BSN program. You likely enrolled in Indiana State program with Sonoma State. Check with the military, CABRN or CA Attorney General

Anyone has had a bad experience with the college network or anywhere else?

The college network isn't a place it's a publishing company. Many have reported various issues as indicated by the posts in this thread as well as the original Indy Star series of articles.
