I'm not an EC grad YET. I just started their MSN program and I live in NY. My hats off to all the EC ADN grads. I wanted to do it but was advised not too. However, I have respect for EC ADN grads. It takes great perseverance and determination to study on your own.
I'm glad EC has given many nurses the opportunity to further their education.

Way to go! I am considering Excelsior College for my RN. I am currently an LPN. How long did it take you to earn your ADN?

Was lpn for 5 years finished excelsior adn in Jan 2010 became RN. Prior to finishing the Excelsior program I worked as a licensed practical nurse in nursing homes.when I became a registered nurse I got a job in ICU at a small community hospital.after working there for a year I got a job at a larger hospital the Cleveland Clinic I am on an orthopedic telemetry unit.I recently finished my bachelors degreefrom Kaplan University and I will be starting my acute care nurse practitioner program in September at Walden University I have never had any issues being a graduate of Excelsior College....actually most nurses and management that I encounter believe that Excelsior nurses are very particular and goal oriented to finish a self-study program they possess a desire and passion to finish a self study programI just wanted to add that last year i was a finalist for nurse of the year at my hospital... not bad for an Excelsior grad

I was an LPN for 24 years prior to enrollment with EC in August 2009. Graduated and passed NCLEX in April/June 2010 respectively. I kept my same job as a PRN float nurse for a year then relocated, where I did a year in a cardiac step-down unit at one hospital while maintaining a float position at a teaching hospital where I am now. Presently, I'm in the process of endorsing to Florida and am on course to RN-BSN completion with EC by April of next year...if all goes as planned. Once that is completed, nothing but tropical working vacations for me!
Update: BSN completed August 17, 2014!!!!!!

    My semi-irregular update:

    ADN, 2008
    BSN, 2010
    Army, 2011
    Deployment, 2013-2014
    Leaving active duty July 2015

All but a capstone to finish my MSN in Informatics, but I am back-burner-ing that degree in favor of an MSN-FNP through Chamberlain. Should finish by August 2016. May try to complete the other MSN after that, but we'll see!

Ok. I couldn't help it. I applied and was accepted into 2 Masters degree programs: MSN and MSHS (strongly considering this one as it will give me exactly what I need to secure a position in Public/Community Health (interview coming up very soon but I have no experience in the area), as well as raise a few eyebrows in the Case Management world (or so I'm told). Both of these are with Excelsior, so being a two-time graduate of the college with the appropriate GPA made the process easy...they have all my transcripts already. But, making the decision to enroll since I just finished their BSN program is the hold-up. I'm rather fatigued at the moment. Information overload?
