Nursing Students Ohio University

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

Okay, I'm totally and completely lost with the assignment:
Read pages 210-213 of your textbook then visit Ohio University's online Library, or another library of your choice, to locate a single article that is a systematic review or a meta-analysis of a topic related to diabetes. Write 2-3 well-developed sentences, per research article, addressing the review findings; Note: make certain to note how many articles in the review were qualitative and quantitative and state what quantitative designs were found
I have absolutely no clue what I'm supposed to do. Go to a database and type in my topic??? How do I know when it's a systematic or meta-analysis??? I am sinking fast and like Mickey59 I'm going for the wine. Can someone please help me when I get back???? From pouring the wine that is.
I typed in search criteria for meta analysis, diabetes. It brought up several articles. The problem is that some of them have like 14 or 15 articles they reviewed. I ain't going there. Then I remembered Cochrane report provides clinical studies and meta analysis, so I went to look at those. I picked one and now I am attempting to work my way through it. This stuff is Greek to me.
In the assigned article does anyone understand what " Multiple imputation was used to generate missing outcomes and demographic and socioeconomic covariates at base line and follow up visits." ?
I have no idea whatsoever! And is it even relevant to the question we're to answer???

Typed it where exactly??? Am I the only one who is completely in the dark??? If this is what grad school is forget it.
For the Cochrane report I went to OU Library, Databases and entered Cochrane report. When that came up I added Diabetes as a search qualifier.
Hey I just noticed the Library Tab on our course Resources. I clicked on it and we have a librarian Deb Orr. It gives her email address. Maybe she can help finding an article.
I feel brain dead.... I'm going to bed, no nearer to completing anything than I was 4 hours ago.

Did you use CINAHL? In the search criteria, you can click what type of study. It has both meta-analysis and sytematic review (and a whole bunch I've never heard of lol).
I'm lost on the Directions part of this assignment. It's so confusing. This whole entire course is just so confusing

From my TA " ]There has been confusion
about the assignment instructions for this week ]Professor Andreano has
clarified the requirements
]Make
a list of three
strengths and three weaknesses for each design: experimental and quasi-experimental.Read thoroughly
the article Characteristics of Insured Patients with Persistent Gaps in Diabetes Care Services[. This article was posted as an attachment to an announcement last week. ]Decide whether this study was an experimental design or a quasi-experimental design and list three reasons to support your decision."
But that doesn't answer the part about the meta analysis , do we just add it on to the post? That could be a really long post.

No clarification for my section! Nothing posted at all about the DB for this week ....

What bothers me is that this new information is not being posted to all sections, again. Grading has always been somewhat dependent on the TA you have. The TA that gave this information out will grade his/her section's DB posting per the clarified info but what about the other TAs?
So, from what this particular section's TA is saying, we do not need to address the issues below?

I will email my TA and see if he/she sends out the same clarification. It was asked in the DB posting and not replied to.
