4550- Evidence Based Nursing

Published

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

Hey everyone...I am also in this class. Seems like I have experienced the same problems as most of you. I know someone was asking if anyone took the quiz...I just took it and I must say this was the toughest quiz since being in the program this past year. I actually flunked it and I have a 4.0....go figure. Hope everyone else has better luck then I do.

Wow - I hate to hear that. I thought it was tricky but ended up passing it.

Got two right on the non-graded ethics quiz. Most of my educated guesses were wrong!

So Im trying to follow the instructions for finding the rubric that our TA said and it appears that it is not in the location that she said it would be in. Noticed someone said earlier that some are found in the mygrades section. Anyone else have any ideas on where else to look?

Thanks to all the posters here. You helped me navigate how to submit my Literature research document. That was not easy to figure out. Thanks for the help. :)

Now to get a discussion post submitted!

Okay...discussion post is submitted. I hope I never have to submit a proposal to an IRB. Not up my alley!

I got permission to resubmit my Literature Searches Assignment... wheew.......

Realized I made a mistake on my first DB post. I was reading 2 articles put the wrong citation in the DB, ( doesn't match the reference) darn!

My TA send out an email,," ]Open Discussion Board then click on the blue link for the week we are on, example week 1. Click on the box in green on the right hand side in the second box titled "forum grade" you will see view rubric.

I guess taht means there are only rubrics for DB assignments.

Not sure why, but there are no green boxes on the right side in my forum discussion. There are however, two green boxes on the left side and one is titled "Grading Information." Clicking on that takes you to another screen and about mid-way down that page is a section entitled "Forum Grade", which has a radio button that says "View Rubric." Clickin on this indeed brings up a rubric however, it is useless and has zero, nada, null set, squat, bupkus useful information. by comparison, the quiz study guide is a paragon of helpful detail. So you a left to guess at what the instructor wants from your posting.

Very disappointed in the way this course is being run. It is unfair to students to state what is required and to fail to provide clear direction. At this point, the course is failing miserably on both counts.

Yesterday, I posted a question about the Respondus LockDown Browser. Our TA sent out an announcement that the Respondus LockDown Browser must be downloaded and used to access the quiz. The announcement stated that directions for downloading are on the "OU homepage in the Student How-To Guide." I'm sure we are all very greatful for this useful and detailed information.

More importantly, the announcement said that there are "many problems with the quiz" and that students were advised NOT to take it until problems were fixed. While one could reasonably expect that there would be another announcement when that occurs, it is probably more likely that you will be on your own to find out.

The only good news in the announcement is that due to the problems, the test date will be extended for two days. This should make the new deadline Tues at midnight but given the way things are shaping up for this course, who knows what the real deadline will be.

Again, very disappointed in the way this course is being run.

I'm pretty much disappointed in a large part of this program. I wish you guys luck in this class :) You can do it!

I took the Mod 1 quiz and thankfully passed. I didn't think it was horrible but I didn't love it either. I think the study guide provided a decent guideline on the quiz topics. There was a problem with one of the questions where you were supposed to read a particular sentence and select the correct answer from that sentence, though there wasn't actually a sentence, just the answers. How can I pick the best answer from a sentence that isn't there? I emailed the TA about that one.

My section did not receive an announcement about quiz problems or the LockDown browser. I did not download the browser, just assumed that since I've been using BB for other classes that I must already have it. Except for the error on the one question that I already stated above, I didn't have any problems taking the quiz. Though it did have a "save answer" box on each question and I wasn't sure if I needed to save each answer as I went or not. I did, just in case.

I've finished all the reading, videos, DB posting and replies, ungraded assignment, and the quiz. Just have to work on the assignment. Did anyone have any difficulties working on the assignment?
