Hey everyone,
I was looking into during the nursing program at EVC and was wondering if they are doing a wait list for there ADN program or if entry is based on merit. Thanks for your time and any info would be great.

Sounds to me that they do 50-50 every year because logically there would be too many applicants every year. Why don't you give the nursing dept. a call to have this verified? BTW every graduate of EVC that I ever met on the job highly praised their program.

This is true. In total, they accept about 120 students into the program: half start a year after the application is filed (for the current cycle for instance, Fall '09), and the other half a semester later (Spring '10). A lot of my peers never really understood this process; one thing I would highly recommend is to attend EVC's workshops to get the full scoop on the program.

Make sure you take most or all of your prerequisites in the evergreen district. Unfortunately, this will eliminate a lot of applicants. Which is good news for those who took more of their prerequisites there.

Why? Is that a requirement or priority at EVC? I didn't see anything about that on the website.
That was a requirement back in 06-07 when i was applying. Not sure if that is applicable today or not. My application was denied because of that. Call them to make sure. You don't want to waste your time and get your hopes up if that is the case.
It's more of a priority standing if I heard correctly from the Nursing Counselor.. but you'll never get that just by word of mouth =X. DIG DIG DIG
Or you can wait for the rejection letter That is how i found out.
Sorry to hear, but you know there's always Unitek! (:icon_roll)
It is all good. Will be graduating from a bay area nursing school in December. Can't wait.

i went to one of the evc workshops this summer and they said that a recent law was passed by the governor that prohibits a school from requiring pre-req's be taken at that school. you can now take them anywhere and they should accept them. it wasn't like that until very recently. this law applies to all ca colleges apparently. hope this helps.
