I was just wondering what people's views on these ever popular 'ghostwriting' services are. It would seem that with the stress of clinical placement, tutorials, and academic work students are finding less and less time to write essays and exam papers.
I work for a couple of companies and write this type of academic paper and even though I do it, I sometimes feel a pang of guilt at how the work may be being wrongly used once I submit it??
one of my coworkers paid for every single paper "he" had to write in nursing school! talk about ticking me off! i busted my butt, stayed up at night (i tend to procrastinate-lol) etc. when i was in school just to get a c and this clown "i have a 4.0! " and it wasn't even earned.

It is completely ridiculous! As a student, I have worked on many, many research papers. Some have brought me to tears due to frustration, but with each and every paper I've written, I have LEARNED valuable lessons that I would never trade. That's the point: RESEARCH papers are meant to be LEARNING opportunities. Those companies should be illegal.
I would expect ghostwriting from students that are studying law and politics-wait, that is stereotyping:chair:
Plagiarism/Ghostwriting is so obviously wrong it is maddening. I am almost speechless.
News flash, Word Perfect: Nursing school is supposed to be hard and overwhelming at times. That is no excuse for CHEATING!!! The program directors KNOW exactly what they are doing when they design the classes, they EXPECT that the students will eat sleep and breathe nursing while in school. It is part of the deal to make those sacrifices with your time, with your family, quitting your job etc so that you can EARN the RIGHT to be a nurse...if a student is struggling then they should cut out the extras from life: no work, limit family time and recreaction time, no t.v. etc. If a student has done all of that and still cannot hack it then sorry, but they do not deserve to be a nurse. Sounds harsh, but it's the facts. there is a reason why nursing school is not a cake walk....they need to weed out the wimps.
Research papers are part of that. Do your own work, and let the students do their own work. You are just as bad, if not worse than the students because you are taking advantage of their situation and profiting from it.
When you write an essay your own personality comes through in the writing style and tone. Its not too hard for an instructor to realize that a paper is written by someone far more proficient than the student as it usually doesn't match the students normal use of language, attitude, grasp of the subject and writing style.
I alway felt that plagarizing well seem like it would be a lot harder than writing your own stuff as to "get away" with it it requires tricky rewriting skills. A lot of english lit teachers now are using software to pick up plagerisim
Cheating is cheating. No matter the form, or who is doing it. Another take on this. My school had a meeting in class at the beginning of the term, where the topic of plagiarism was discussed. The nursing students were given a copy of the policy and made to sign an acknowledgement. After the administration person left the room and for a good deal of time, it was discussed how the school's nursing department had a big scandal about the instructors stealing papers from students and reworking them (and at least in one case, taking it word for word) and submitting them for publication. I really suppose that they thought they were making an impact on us with the little spiel. Most of us considered the meeting and the school to be hypocritical to say the least.

Isn't there even software now that allows you to type in passages of a work and determine whether they're consistent with the style of the professed author? I've been told there is.
At any rate, I could never disguise my writing style. Anyone who knows me at all would realize immediately if I was turning in work that wasn't my own. As a matter of fact, when my son was in an IM with my brother and I sat down and typed a passage, my son said to me "you better tell him that was you, he'll know I don't say things like that", but before I did, my brother said "oh, I see your Mom has joined us".

Yes there is. I had an english professor that had his computer saavy teaching assistants use that. Also for that class we had to take our first draft into the writing center and submit the draft and the revision sheet from the center with the essay.
For one of the national end of year exams in english in NZ even though the exams are marked by id # and sent to teachers around the country to grade my english teacher said he got my paper as he recognized the style.

lol before i get flamed, i wouldn't ever use their services - i'm quite capable of writing my own papers. i don't much trust the work of strangers in any case..
