Anyone else in the middle of this?
I have had 3 students with bloody noses within the first hour of school this morning.
I'm running out of tissues!!! And places for people to sit! I thought about putting the biohazard trash can in the middle of all of my bleeders and having a contest to see who could make the most "baskets" with their bloody tissues. But I refrained.

I don't think I've noticed any more than usual but I still see quite a few.
At my old school I had a kid who would get nosebleeds for 45+ minutes after he had been cauterized.

I have seen a TON! I even sent a 1 st grader home for it. I have never sent a nosebleed home, she just kept oozing. I would stop the bleeding then it would re occur over and over.

It's been terrible!!!! I actually have a designated "bloody nose chair." (Tissues and trash can right next to it.)
Now, if I could just get the teachers to SEND THEM WITH A TISSUE!!!!

i had a vent about nosebleeds last week students coming down 2 floor levels with no tissue DRIVES ME CRAZY: I was given this advice by another poster..............Maybe e-mail and say that "bloody noses are rarely an emergency, but the presence of blood in the hallway creates a hazardous situation for students and staff. Please have the student apply pressure and give them tissues before sending them to the nurses office. This ensures prompt treatment of the bleeding and helps to lessen the potential exposure to blood borne pathogens" I think the words "blood borne pathogens" scare teachers
