Ended NCLEX RN With 92 Questions. Good or Bad??

Hello all! I took the NCLEX RN for the first time yesterday and finished the exam with exactly 92 questions. :nailbiting: I'm nervous and I'm freaking out because I have no clue whether that's a good number of questions to finish with or not. I had my sister's finance do the legendary "Pearson Vue Trick" over the phone and he got the CC page. My heart sank and I KNEW for a FACT that I failed. Well, thankfully I found out Pearson changed their site, sometime around the middle of Aug, and the old trick no longer exists (I'm assuming they caught on to everyone's scheme. Lol). I haven't tried the NEW "Pearson Vue Trick" as I know EVERYONE goes to the CC page and if you put your CC info in and you pass it won't allow you to pay and you'll get the "good popup" but if you fail, it'll charge you $200. Well, I'm not taking that chance as I do not have $200 at the moment. Lol. Anyway, I'm just posting to relieve some tension as I've been stressing since taking the exam yesterday morning. I guess I won't know anything until my unofficial results come in. Anyway, has anyone else finished the NCLEX with an awkward amount of questions and passed? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)

The # of questions you receive is irrelevant as getting 75 or 88 questions does not determine whether you have passed or failed. With CAT the computer shuts off when it believes you are above the passing standard or below. People have passed with all different #s between 75 and 265.

You are right, Pearson has changed their site, there are a multitude of threads on this new trick that you might find of interest and assistance. Keep in mind that a few have lost their $200, because the system took their money even though they passed. It is non-refundable either way. I would just wait for quick results if your state partakes.

Best wishes. The wait can be rough, I know, just try to keep yourself busy these next few days...Before you know it the results will be in.

Thank you for your feedback RN403. Very informative... And Yea, I figured the new Pearson trick was risky business. I'm good on that. Lol. Anyway, I'm going to take your advice and get out of the house for awhile because sitting here is making me feel crazy. Lol. Thank you again....

Congrats on taking the test - hopefully you know your results soon. Not sure what state you're from, though some results are known within 24-48 hours. I'm from California and my license was posted within 48 hours on the BON website.

Best of luck and fingers crossed for you to be an RN!

Thank you yedwards42!!! I'm from Oklahoma by the way. I believe our Board of Nursing posts within 48hrs as well. I took my LPN boards on a Wed and my name was on the BON early Friday morning. I was told the OK BON posts on Saturdays so hopefully I won't be disappointed in the morning. We'll see. I will definitely keep you all posted, pass or fail. I'm definitely praying for good results....The suspense is KILLING me!!! Lol

Thank you MMAnurse. Pearson changed their site to where EVERYONE (passed or not) goes to the credit card page. I tried to reregister, to do the trick, and it went to the CC page. You have to actually put your CC info in the system in order to see if you passed or not. I didn't try the new trick. But I actually found out yesterday morning that I passed boards and am now an RN. Thank you again!!
