    Shadowing a CRNA

Hello nurses, I am currently in the process of applying to CRNA school and am having a hard time finding a CRNA to shadow. A friend of mine sent me a link to a company who assist nurses with finding CRNAs to shadow. The issue is the company has a TON of submissions, at this time, which is causing the process to go very slowly. There is no telling how long it will take to find a CRNA to shadow. I want to ask does anyone have any pointers as to what I can do? I am new to finding CRNAs to shadow and want to, at least, shadow a CRNA a few times before applying. I've called CRNA clinics/offices, with no luck and I've submitted my info to this company who assist with the process, as well. Any and all suggestions welcome. Oh, I currently live in San Diego, CA, but am open to traveling as well. Thank you in advance.

NICU Interviews in NoCal and SoCal

Wow! You just answered my question as to why housing is so high in California. That's pretty interesting. I'm nervous now girl. Lol. Coming from Oklahoma where I can pay $700+ a month in rent is going to be a culture shock for me, but I'm ready to give it a go. I just hope the pay will make up for the hosing costs. We shall see. Thank you for your feedback. I truly appreciate it.

NICU Interviews in NoCal and SoCal

Thank you so much for your response Boomer MS, RN, BSN, MSN! What you've said helps a lot. I guess I have to choose wisely. The way I see it, living in California, whether northern or southern, is a win win in my book. Thanks again. :)

NICU Interviews in NoCal and SoCal

Hello fellow and future nurses, I am excited to say that I have a job interview at UC Davis in Sacramento, California and a job interview at Rady Children's hospital in San Diego, California, both next week. Both positions are for the NICU, which I currently work in Oklahoma City. I did not expect to hear back from both hospitals this soon and am grateful to have been given a chance to interview. :) Here is my issue...I have never stepped foot in the state of California and am torn between the two cities. I have heard different things about both places, good and bad, but still can't make a decision on which is better. Also, I know nothing about both hospitals, but what I've read online. I am not going to be able to visit Cali before moving this August due to saving up to move and possibly flying out to Seattle for my sister's Residency graduation. I am basically doing everything online, which is crazy I know. Lol. Anyway, if anyone could give me their opinion on both places I would love you forever. :) I need all the help I can get. Lol. Oh, I have an 11 year old daughter and a 12 year old son, my boyfriend is moving with me as well. Just a little background, if needed. Thank you. :)

Question Regarding Cost of Living in Cali

Thank you for your response RNKPCE! I really appreciate your honesty. I definitely have some things to consider before making a move out there and I will definitely have a job lined up before moving. God knows how that would turn out if I didn't plan ahead. Thank you again.

Question Regarding Cost of Living in Cali

Hello all! I currently reside in Oklahoma City, Ok. I have been thinking about moving to San Diego, Ca. sometime in the near future and had some questions about the housing market out there. First, a little bit about me. I am a single mother of two children (a 10yr old son and a 9yr old daughter). I graduated from nursing school in May of 2014 and I currently have an Associates degree in Nursing and I am an RN. I am in the process of starting a BSN program this fall and am hoping to finish in December of 2016. I currently work in an adult ICU unit (Oct 2015 will be my year in the ICU. Woot Woot!) and I landed a part-time home health job working with new born babies. My long term goal is to get a job in the NICU and to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. With that being said, here are my concerns. With the cost of housing being so high in California is a single mother able to live comfortably without struggling to make ends meet and compromising her children's education? I was looking online and saw that a decent 3 bedroom apartment can cost up to $2500+ a month in San Diego. When I saw that I thought how is it possible to pay that amount of rent off a nurses salary? I've heard that nurses do get paid more in California, but how much more is my question? How are you nurses surviving the cost of living in California? Are your children going to decent schools? I want to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into before I make any moves. All comments are welcome and I would really love to hear from you single mothers' especially. Thank you for reading! I hope to hear from you soon.

Pearson Vue Trick Accuracy Right After NCLEX Exam

Hello all, I took the NCLEX PN this morning around 8:45am and finished with the minimum of 85 questions. I left the testing center feeling really bummed because I didn't think I did very well. Anyway, I anticipated on trying the Pearson Vue trick but was really panicky and didn't have the guts to do it. Thankfully my brave boyfriend came home during his lunch break to do the trick for me. He did the trick and got the good pop up. Since then, I've been doing the trick and have gotten the good pop up. I've done the trick up to 4 times so far, with the last time being around 2:00 this afternoon. My question is, how accurate is the Pearson Vue trick right after taking the NCLEX exam? My nerves are getting the best of me and I don't know what to think or do at this point. Please HELP!!! Lol
