Hello,
The application for the Emory School of Nursing is now available. I have started my application and want to connect with anyone else who is applying to Emory.
Are they doing phone calls again this year? As far as where everyone lives gabookworm, I live 20 minutes just outside of Decatur so I might get that letter pretty quick. Whenever they mail anything I seem to get it 24-48 hours within the processing date. That prereq letter I received within 24 hours. If you want, I will let you guys know as soon as I receive an admission decision by mail. I'm so nervous :/
I have no idea how we'll be notified. I thought you said they told you we'd be notified by mail, so I'm expecting that, but hoping for a phone call or email. I was just relaying what last year's forum thread indicates as far as timing. Definitely let us know when you get word, however it comes!
HCE2014, You received an email notification about your outstanding pre-req? I received snail mail with that info. Do you happen to live out of state? And yes gabookworm, when I inquired about how decision notifications would go out she said that it was all through direct mail. I was asking about phone calls bc there's always a way that I could have misunderstood or could have missed something, so I just wanted to make sure :)
Sonata32 were they on your to do list before you got the letter in the mail? Before this morning, I thought all my prereqs were complete. Turns out my stats class wont count and I need another one-- no big deal but I got an email from Carmen letting me know I had an outstanding prereq. Then, at about 10am it got added to my to-do list (It said no outstanding items before). Seeing how its 48hrs (or less) before admission decisions are due, I'm wondering why they are contacting me now about a pre-req. Seems a little late to just now be reviewing files.

It could also simply mean that the transfer credit evaluations are happening separately from admissions decisions. It's dicey for them to wait so long to tell you that, though, because a lot of schools are already back in session, and the program starts in May.

I hope its a good sign :) When I called to follow up she said she just wanted me to send her a copy of the syllabus in question and then told me that files had already been reviewed. So maybe the fact that shes following up and adding the class to my OPUS is a good thing. They've had my app for a long time and this is the first I'm hearing of anything with regards to prereqs.
HCE2014 - Yes, my pre-reqs were added onto Opus and I could see them before I got the letter, so I think this means they are really moving to get all of the processes done before Wednesday. I'm sorry about your stats class not being applied, and I agree with gabookworm that it was nice of them to email you and let you know. I emailed them a few weeks ago because my opus account states that I have 4 pre-reqs to complete when I really have 2, and she stated that due to the surplus of transcripts they received, they would be updating the system over the next few weeks. At first I had a mild heart attack because I had just retaken those classes and I thought that meant that none of them applied, ha. It sounds as though they had many more people apply this year than normal (I know not exactly comforting information) so I think they are just trying to get it all done before the 15th. But then again, that is just my guess. All I know is that the office stated that anyone who applied before December 1st, will know by the 15th. They have been doing this for years now and they are the experts so I'm just trying to trust the process. I'm sure that if decisions aren't out by the 15th, they know that most of our excited, nervous, and obsessive selves (all 200 of us that applied) will be calling or emailing wanting to know, ha. Hopefully they will update opus too, but I just don't know :)

I'm sure not everyone that applies has an advanced degree they just told us that they were more common in their direct entry applicants.
