Hi guys! Has anyone figured out how to fill out the FAFSA? I've called FAFSA twice and talked to admissions officers.. but I'm still confused and everyone is saying different things. All of the nursing schools I am applying to are ABSN except for Emory. Do we submit it as a 5th year undergrad for the other schools first and then come back and add Emory and submit it as a graduate student?! (Then, won't that change the student level status for the other schools once we submit it twice for Emory?) Please, help ?

I think we are all equally confused, LOL!! Since Emory is my top choice, I put graduate student since that’s what nursing fin aid told me to do. Once they process, I’ll change it to 5th year for the other schools if I need to.

Basically you have to group your ABSN and masters programs. It really did not matter which order, but I did my FAFSA for my masters programs I applied for 1st. Then after you receive your SAR a couple days later for the masters programs, go back into FAFSA, select the FAFSA correction option. Change the student status from graduate to 5th year undergrad. Remove all of the masters programs that you listed, then add all of the BSN schools. Then proceed to submit the FAFSA correction. You will receive another SAR a couple days later, which is only for the BSN schools.

Great, thanks! Did you talk to FAFSA too? Where did you hear this information?

I was assuming that as well. I am currently talking with a FAFSA aid and I think this is what she is saying, too.

This is my plan as well!

Hi everyone! I am coming in a bit late to this whole process and I am rushing to apply for the December 1st deadline for the MN program. Do guys know if just uploading copies of my transcripts is enough for the application to be completed? or do I need to send official copies of the transcripts through my university?

THANKS!

copies are okay as long as your name and the schools name are on the transcripts!

I'm also coming in late as I just discovered this program! Anyone know the chances/competiveness of applying this late? do we have to send in all transcripts by the 12/1 deadline?

I emailed them about 2 weeks ago to ask about the chances of being admitted in this round of applications and they responded that there are still plenty of seats in the program! I believe that with the transcripts by just uploading a copy of each transcript to your application by the 12/1 deadline is all that's required, and then if accepted into the program you need to officially send them through your university (but you can email to confirm since I still have trouble believing it is that easy to apply haha -usually they respond pretty fast through email!)

Has anyone heard anything about financial aid yet? I know they said December just didn’t know if anyone received their packet yet.

I emailed Megan a few days ago and she said merit scholarship information will come out the week before Christmas, so should be next week. Not sure about financial aid but I believe that may not be until March.  I hope it’s earlier because that’s pretty important, LOL.

I hope it will be earlier than March too! Fingers crossed for merit scholarships for everyone!
