Hello! I have been accepted for Summer 2022 for MN to MSN and would really like if any of you who started the program would let us know how it's been for you? What has your experience been like? Do you have any advice for new folks coming in? What do you wish someone had told you? Anything you'd like to share would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am in the MN+MSN program that will begin in May and was wondering who did you guys reach out to for questions about fin aid?

Hi, what program did you end up going to? How are you liking it?

Hi! I was admitted to Yale, Columbia, Emory and Vanderbilt, waitlisted at Seattle U and UPenn. I committed to Vandy and I couldn't be happier. ALL of these schools are phenomenal, and I have friends who are very happy at Emory right now as well! I really encourage you to attend the admitted student virtual events and reach out to faculty - most of them would hop on a zoom call or phone call gladly - these two things helped me get a good feeling for the culture of the University. Good luck!

Hi, I'm waiting on the decision from Vanderbilt. You had some great options, what made you choose Vandy? The culture? I saw some people complaining about disorganization within Emory's program, heard anything about that from your friends? About how many people are in your cohort? Thank you.

Columbia was the first school that I eliminated. The tuition was really high and the structure of the program didn't suit me. Once I had it narrowed down to the three, it became about tuition, culture, length of program, and location! I chose Vanderbilt because the program was MSN for my specialty (whereas Emory went directly to a DNP), and I know that I want to have a MSN before I have a DNP, so this was a big factor for me, because my speciality at Emory started piloting going direct to the DNP. I haven't heard anything about disorganization at Emory - I can only speak to the experience I had with them before choosing Vandy - the student zoom meetings with Emory were fantastic, faculty were very invested, and everyone was really nice. The culture at Vanderbilt is warm, welcoming, and challenging in a good way. There are very smart and talented individuals here and I truly feel honored to work alongside my peers every day. Faculty go out of their way to support you, are responsive to emails, and engaged with both virtual and in person lectures. There is a TON of hands on learning, and my clinicals have been great so far. There are 150 ish in my cohort, 30 ish in my specialty. Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding and for the good advice! The workload at Vandy seems challenging, are the courses full semester or do they break things up in like 8 week sessions?
