The Fall 2021 application for Emory opens tomorrow so I wanted to create this thread for people to connect, share experiences with the application process, and stats (if you choose to). Good luck everyone!!

This way there’s no delay and aid is always first come first serve. I have not accepted yet because I’m waiting to hear from Emory about the merit scholarship, which I won’t know about until December. I have until March 1st to accept so there’s no rush but the cost is my main factor.
Thank you so much! I figured I would accept and then update my student action form if anything were to change.

I haven't paid the deposit yet! Just submitted the student action form. Do you happen to be applying to other schools? I wanted to listed a couple schools on the form; some programs are M.asters and some are an ABSN. When you start the FAFSA form, you have to choose whether you're applying to a second bachelors or a masters and since I'm applying to both, I'm not sure which one to select. Not sure if it affects the aid?

It does affect the aid and even though this is called a Masters program, it is technically a second Bachelors so you would choose 5th year student on FAFSA. I did apply to Northeastern also so that is on my FAFSA.
Hi everyone! Congrats to everyone who got accepted and good luck to whoever is still waiting! I got accepted into the mn+MSN program for the FNP specialty and am waiting on other schools before I accept.
Just wanted to pop in and say hello because I have been following this thread but I just made an account LOL. I saw some of the other comments regarding financial aid and I just wanted to pass on what I heard from my zoom meeting with one of the associate directors of admission and financial aid. If you are starting Summer 2021 (like me), you would need to fill out both the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 FAFSAs and fill out both of them as a graduate student. The 2020-2021 FAFSA is needed for Summer 2021 aid. It says on their website to fill it out as a 5th yr undergrad so I asked about this and the person said that it's outdated because that was from when the AMSN program was an ABSN+MSN program. I think they are updating it now because she said they would be updating it and I don't see that page anymore on their website. Also, I have not received my financial aid package either and that is also why I am holding off accepting the offer but she said that the first group of financial aid packages SHOULD be going out sometime in November, but I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed.
Also as for the OPUS status change, for some reason my status hasn't changed on there and it still says "application received" but I have the pay admissions deposit button. I asked the lady about this too and she said that she doesn't know when that change takes place, but as long as you get the acceptance letter, you're good! She said I still showed up as admitted on their end. Hope this was helpful in some way and sorry if its so long LOL

Thank you for the information, I’m going to have to call financial aid tomorrow about the 5th year student vs grad student. My info session said to fill it out as a 5th year student, so did other schools I applied to, so it’s obviously conflicting information. I’m wondering if it’s different for you because you’re also doing the FNP program? I’m only doing the MN because they don’t have my specialty for MSN.

ahh that could be it! Maybe cause I'm doing the MSN portion also, but I am not too sure. I was very confused on that as well so I actually did one of them as a 5th yr undergrad and the other as a grad student so I had to update mine after my meeting. Please do let me know what they say when you ask ?

Thank you so much. And yes, that was my question too (about the ABSN schools vs. Emory's MN) and how that conflicts with the FAFSA (5th year undergrad. vs grad).. If anyone knows more information, please let us know! Greatly appreciated ? And, best of luck to everyone this Friday!!

I spoke with someone in financial aid and said that I was correct, FAFSA should say 5th. Even though Emory calls it a Masters of Nursing, it is still technically a BSN. She wasn't sure about people applying to the MN+MSN program but said she believes its the same because the first portion is technically the undergrad portion (MN) before getting to the MSN. She said to email [email protected] if you had questions to make sure.
