The Fall 2021 application for Emory opens tomorrow so I wanted to create this thread for people to connect, share experiences with the application process, and stats (if you choose to). Good luck everyone!!

Hi Matcha,
The pre-licensure MN & MSN program is for those students with a non-nursing bachelors.
So, how it works is that the student will for 15 months complete the MN (which is the prelicensure part, sit for NCLEX & obtain license) and be awarded a Masters of Nursing (instead of a BSN). Then the student seamlessly moves on to the MSN segment which is the advance practice track (NP) which from what I see is 4 semesters full time study.
So, yes, the prelicensure is just the MN portion of the program. It's like a 2 step program.
I also see that Emory also offers just the prelicensure track (15 months and you graduate with an MN. I have seen a lot of universities move towards ending their Accelerated BSN programs and just offering an accelerated MSN program which in 2 years gets the non-nursing degree holder an NP at the end.
Hope that helps.
Hi everyone!
Congrats on getting in! I accepted my offer, but have not paid the tuition deposit yet because I am waiting to hear from other schools. Just wanted to double check with everyone that the only two steps to securing your spot is accepting on the student action form and paying the deposit (by march 1st). Thanks!

Congrats Kesha,
Just wondering....did Emory offer a scholarship with their offer? I applied as well and am awaiting a decision. I am trying to figure out how much Emory may offer?

Hi! Congrats on being accepted ? I think I read that you were still completing your prerequisites. Could I ask which ones you are still completing? I submitted my application one week before the priority deadline but I am a bit scared because I am finishing up my A&P courses (which will be completed by next week. I assume those are the most important prereq grades the admissions team are looking for ? And, decisions come out next week! I created an OPUS account but nothing is updated yet.. So nervous!
I was super nervous too because my prerequisites weren't finished. I got accepted and I'm in the process of doing nutrition and a chem lab. While A&P are important I don't think it would deter them from a decision pending completion of the classes. Your previous grades let them know what type of student you are. Good luck!

Yes, I agree. I think they look holistically at the application. And as long as you have a plan to complete them before starting the program....it should be fine.
I actually have A&P2, Chemistry, and Microbiology left. So that's a lot....but the program starts in 10 months which is sufficient time to get it done.

Hi! I was accepted into Emory's program and I am currently taking A&P I and will take II in the Spring semester. I think as long as you have made good progress through any of the prereqs, then you're in good shape! In my acceptance letter it said my enrollment is contingent upon finishing/passing the classes.
Good luck!

LOL...it's a lot of courses....but there's time to get it done. I am currently in the middle of ap1.

Hi RMCollins,
Yes, I think you are right....if they see that you have a few of the prerequisites completed...then that's a good indication of taking the requirement seriously.
By the way, which semester will you start Emory?

Thank you guys! Makes me feel a lot better. Did you guys submit your application early? So anxious waiting..
Also, Has anyone submitted their FAFSA yet? Are we supposed to apply for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school year? Or just the latter?
