Emory Fall 2015 Applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

So the application for the Fall 2015 BSN traditional/ ABSN/MSN has just opened up. I thought it may be nice to start a thread so any of the applicants can check on each others processes and get to know one another..

Maybe call the admissions office again in case to clarify!

For those of you applying to the ABSN/MSN program, if you're addressing the question "Describe 3 qualities that will make you a successful nurse" in your essay, are you addressing what would make you a successful NURSE or a successful NURSE PRACTITIONER? Since the MSN is our final degree, we would at most work as an RN for 2 years after completion of the first year, while we will be practicing as an NP for 30+ years..?

In my personal opinion, I think it's probably not meant to be answered on only specifically for the registered nurse part. It's the same question for BSN applicants too. Maybe you could just answer it "Describe three qualities that will make you successful for the nursing field." Plus, keep in mind that the NP's job is based on the foundation of being an RN.

ok so i just called the admissions. they said that the GRE is not required for the ABSN program. but online it does say that GRE is required for ABSN. Weird! i've double checked already.

Hey!!! The GRE is not required for the ASBN program. Remember there are two programs. One with the MSN which requires the GRE. Hope that helps!!!

I thought I pressed replied to your question....I responded below.

Accelerated BSN | Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing | Emory University

it made me really confused, but i've confirmed several times. ok, emory's on my list and ready to be submitted!

No I completely understand. Good luck!!!

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for starting this forum! I'm applying to Emory Fall 2015 as well for the 2nd BSN program! :-) I know that they said the TEAS V wasn't required, but is anyone taking it anyways? Will you submit your scores, and if so, what grade do you think they are looking for?

why spend the extra money if you don't need to. it's expensive to take!

does anyone know what's the acceptance rate to Emory nursing?

I almost didn't apply to Emory because I wanted to complete the ABSN portion but not the MSN at the moment.

also, i think their SOP questions are actually pretty hard. does anyone know when the ABSN opened up? JUST ABSN. on nursingcas. I'm using the nursingcas since it's one central application.

how many of you from southern CA? Heard the South is really different.

I'm from the middleish/south California too! Also, I don't think you should send the scores over because they might not even look at the TEAS score and you don't wanna waste money as lagirl said. I mean applying and submitting applications already costs enough money.
