  1. Seattlite, this is the Seattle U APNI thread.
  2. I did not get an email. I called AH directly as we have been in contact for a few weeks, trying to work around my 3/1 deposit deadline for Emory.
  3. Not sure about the accreditation, you've got me worried about that now. It's not listed on the CCNE website as accredited. I asked Kristen about it this morning and she said she thinks it is, but needs to double check. If it's not accredited, I'm out. Classes work on a rotating online/in class schedule, AFTER THE FIRST YEAR. First year is 100% in class. So say we're in our second year, and we have class A & B. 1st week of school, we have A in class, B is online. Next week B is in class, A is online. I was told NCLEX pass rate is mid to high 90s. Not sure about preceptor/student ratio. KC did imply that after the first year, you would be going out to clinical sites possibly by your own, or in like groups of 3 or so, so I would say pretty small. The program itself is TINY. Our incoming class will have ~12 total, so 6 AGNP, 6 FNP. DNP is a personal decision at this point. From what I have learned, you'll not make much difference in terms of pay with a DNP vs an MSN. This would obviously change if DNP becomes the new standard instead of MSN. Other than that you can expect very similar pay, especially as a fresh grad.
  4. UVM is currently my top choice but I am deciding between a couple others as well. I would recommend getting in contact with KC (her initials) the person who sent out the acceptance letters. Call her and leave a message, she'll get back to you. I had a great talk with her today and she was kind enough to answer my laundry list of questions! I can also try to answer questions you may have, as I've learned quite a bit in the past couple days (outside of the website).
  5. I have been in contact with AH regarding a decision for FNP as I have been accepted into all of the other programs I applied to (University of Vermont DNP program, UMass Med DNP program, and Emory's ABSN/MSN program) with one of the deposit deadlines being on 3/1. I was supposed to find out a decision last week but I bit the bullet and paid Emory's deposit fee since I still couldn't make up my mind. I found out yesterday I was waitlisted, and was honestly a little shocked, as when I talked to AH last week she said "you may just be on the very top of the list." She told me yesterday that despite the fact that I was waitlisted, I was #3 on the list. She said it is quite likely I will get an acceptance due to movement and people declining. My point... I am turning down my spot no matter what. SO, those farther down on the waitlist from me hoping to get in, still hold on!
  6. Anyone on here planning on attending UVM in the DEPN program? Or anyone already in the program?
  7. I got an email saying that a decision was ready on the online UVM grad app page, and it was posted there. Later on I got an email from KC with an acceptance later as well.
  8. I was accepted! I am struggling to decide between UVM, UMass, and Emory....
  9. Has anyone made a facebook group for accepted/admitted students??
  10. Congrats all!! Keep your fingers crossed for me that FNP doesn't fill up before next Thursday haha. Can I ask, what clinical scenarios were you given in the interview? That makes me sort of nervous.
  11. Has anyone been accepted to FNP?
  12. Thanks all! I am feeling really anxious as my interview was pushed back nearly 3 weeks (was supposed to be 28th of Jan) due to the storm, and I'm worried the FNP program will fill up before I even have my interview (end of next week) which I was supposed to have a while ago! Agh:(
  13. I have questions!! haha What do you like about the program, and what would you change if you could? How large is the cohort, and how large are each specialties? (interested in FNP, specifically) What is the Worcester area like? Is it easy to find housing near campus? What is a typical monthly rent? What made you choose this program? How are the professors? Is the teaching interactive, collaborative, engaging? How do clinical placements work? Are they all local or will we need to plan to travel a little? I will probably have more later... THANK YOU!
  14. Hey all! I have an interview for FNP next week (it was originally the last week of Jan but had to be pushed back because of the snowstorm). I am on the west coast, so I have no idea what the facilities are like. I am pretty sure this is where I'll go if I get in... but any additional info people have that they could share about the program/facilities/area/cohort etc. would be awesome! :)
  15. I interview for FNP this weekend. All I know is I'm stressin big time over what to wear!! I wish I had more time to prepare all this :/
