Emory Fall 2015 Applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

So the application for the Fall 2015 BSN traditional/ ABSN/MSN has just opened up. I thought it may be nice to start a thread so any of the applicants can check on each others processes and get to know one another..

...I can't wait that long...if I haven't heard anything by 12:30 tomorrow, I'm giving the office a call and will let y'all know what comes of it!

Did anyone email you guys for course descriptions around Christmas time?

Greetings,

On behalf of the Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs, I hope this email finds you well! I just wanted to touch bases with you and let you know that as of today you have been preliminarily reviewed, and are now in line to receive a final review by the committee. I want to thank you for your patience during this time as I know that you are anxious to learn the status of your admission into the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School Of Nursing, and understandably so!

Therefore, in an effort to aid myself and the committee in the flow and processing of your application, if you would provide me with the course descriptions of all the pre-requisite courses you have already taken and preliminarily listed on your application, that would be a tremendous help. This request is in part because course titles and listings may not always appear to be the course that is required for the pre-requisite courses, (i.e. Chem II does not always include an Organic component and at times an actual Organic Chemistry course has to be taken to fulfill this requirement instead) in addition to expediting the process due to the very high volume of applications being processed at this tine. So to aid myself and the committee in a more proficient and time efficient processing of your application, the provision of said course descriptions is appreciated for cross referencing purposes. I thank you for your patience and assistance during this time and look forward to hearing from you soon!

That's what the email said.

Definitely didn't get that. Crud. When did you submit your app?

I also got that email in December. I submitted my app like Nov 24 or 25 or something like that.

I submitted my app early November

Have you guys applied for any scholarships or fellowships?

I didn't get that e-mail either :( but maybe my courses titles were more descriptive? Do they send that to everyone? I'm kind of worried. I submitted Nov. 21st.

I was going to apply for the Fuld Service Learning fellowship. I met the GRE requirement but was worried my cumulative GPA wasn't quite up to par (3.5)... and I had just started a new cna job so I was suuuuper busy, and had another app due that week, so I didn't. Speaking of which, does anyone know if Emory uses actual cum GPA or last 2 years of undergrad cum GPA? All these grad schools do different things!

I guess it depends on the specialty that you applied. Maybe they just wanna make sure that your chemistries are aligned with what they want. I'm sure that my course descriptions were not clear to them that's why they wanted more clarity. I also know that they were going to do final review of applications after the first week of January so maybe they will delay decisions . I just hate waiting lol! If I don't find out tomorrow I will go ahead and do the scholarships so that I don't miss any deadlines.

I think they do overall cumulative. Also, I have an OPUS account so hopefully that means my application was received.

I didn't apply to any scholarships by the way because I realized you were going to have to do outside stuff of class for that specific fellowship/scholarship so that's why they wanted people with a high gpa and I thought it might be hard to juggle class and the fellowship.

I just checked on opus.. Nothing yet.. I'll just check tomorrow after 12 and then after 5
