Has anyone else applied for Emory’s Distance- Accelerated BSN for Spring 2021?

I submitted my application and materials prior to the priority deadline. Waiting to hear back on Nov. 13th. Fingers crossed!

Mine as well. Keep checking!

Hi all!

I was just accepted into the program. My application was submitted on October 8. I believe the only reason I got a response is because I emailed them every 2 weeks. Plus I’m a veteran and my husband is active duty. He’s currently on orders to California and I needed to know whether I not I should stay in Maryland (since they can’t set up rotations in California).

How are you all paying for the programs? I see they have scholarship opportunities on their webpage but nothing sees up to date.

Congrats to all others who were accepted!

Congratulations! Did you receive your admissions decision today or another day?

Congrats!!
I’m hoping FAFSA and scholarships will cover the cost. It’s my only concern about the program. It is very expensive.

I received the acceptance today. I received an email saying there was an update in my application portal NOT OPUS. The acceptance letter was there.

They actually called me yesterday while I was at work to discuss my transcripts and living situation. It’s was basically an impromptu, informal interview.

That's awesome that you received the acceptance.  I applied on October 8 as well but it seems as if they are slowly moving through the applications one by one.

Also, in regards to how I plan to pay for it (if I get admitted)....planning on a federal loan which I think is around $12K and hoping to get some sort of scholarship from Emory (I heard in the past it worked out to be 10% of the tuition) and then the rest LOL I am hoping private school loan. It's a lot of money....but I like the distance element of the program (not alot of programs out there like that)

Hi all,

I was accepted this last Friday, 11/20 for the Spring 2021 cohort. I had officially turned in everything on the online application on 9/11. I emailed once in the beginning of October and they said decisions were running behind due to COVID.

Congrats to all who have been admitted! Looking forward to starting ASAP. Also, I think a FB group could be beneficial. If you know of one for the Spring 2021 class, let me know!

Hi JL!

No update really. On Friday, I received a response to my status email stating that my application is with admissions.

Not sure how long it will take but I think JLColton from your experience, it moves from the Admissions Committee to "Program Leadership" and then there's a decision.

I hope maybe by this Friday at the earliest I will get an answer.

I check like everyday. Hoping.

Has anyone been able to talk to a previous/current student in the program? I have a few more questions before I put down the deposit.
