Emory D-ABSN 2021

Published

Has anyone else applied for Emory’s Distance- Accelerated BSN for Spring 2021?

I submitted my application and materials prior to the priority deadline. Waiting to hear back on Nov. 13th. Fingers crossed!

Just checked. No change at all

Hi JLColton, I am thinking the individuals that got their decisions today are all from the MSN/MN programs. So maybe, they haven't released the Distance-ABSN results as yet?

That’s kind of what I’m thinking. Nobody has mentioned DABSN so far. I sent an email asking if we will receive our decisions tonight.

OK...hopefully they can pinpoint a date for us because its so stressful to keep wondering.

Still nothing?

Here's the thing.....I received a response yesterday to an email I sent maybe 2 days ago. I asked the question if the D-ABSN applicants would receive a decision on Nov 13 or it will be a rolling basis. Here's the response I received:

"All Distance ABSN applications are on a rolling admission schedule. We release decisions just as soon as we can, typically 6-10 weeks after they are received"

I just don't think we will receive a decision anytime soon. It's been about 5 weeks since I applied so I am thinking maybe the earliest will be Nov 20 and latest December 20.

It's crazy to me how a decision release date is posted but they appear to make decisions on a rolling basis.

I checked this morning and still nothing.

Wow. That’s extremely disappointing. I really hope we hear something soon.... when I spoke with someone on the phone they said they would try to receive my application ASAP and that was about 5 weeks ago as well.

That sounds about right. I think that they are awaiting more applications before they release decisions for the program. I am not sure why they post a release date publicly.  Let's hope maybe this Friday we will have a decision.

I finally got a response to my email.

this is what was said....

“as you now know, decisions were not made last week, but I did receive your referral from the Admissions Department for review by program leadership.  In fact, I was summarizing these just last night, so I believe you'll be hearing something soon.”

I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I’m thinking we should hear something fairly soon?

this sounds good. I think your decision will be made soon. I just wish there was more timely communication.

I hope so. Have you gotten any further communication?

I haven't received anything specific to my application. I really really thought that their decision release date would be honored and if not, then it would be communicated.

I also applied to Vanderbilt's Prespecialty 2 year program and it's a different experience (more communication from Admissions).

I am going to just continue to wait. I think you will hear something soon.
